I am really not sure what people see in this place other than its convenient if you live close. We usually go for the breakfast tacos and their drive through is usually very fast if you whip around the building to place your order. The only good thing next to the tortillas being homemade is the convenience factor.
First of all, please stop using "American Cheese" in your tacos and passing it off as "Authentic". It is NOT "Authentic". I get it that it is a cost factor. I would strongly advise you to go back to using cheddar in your migas tacos. Secondly, I would strongly suggest you add a splash of milk to your eggs. It makes them fluffier and does not dry them out. There is noting more frustrating than eating one of your tacos and having to drown it in your salsa because the eggs are so dry you almost choke on it.
I have also come during the lunch. They also use American cheese on their enchiladas. Their beans are bland the the rice is not much better. Again, I would like a little bit of flavor in my food and not have to "spice it up" by drowning it in your salsa. The service is always amazing. That is another good thing they have going for them if you eat in.
If I hear my family is stopping at this place, I usually tell them not to get me anything from there because the breakfast tacos are so bad. You would think for being open so long and being a "mom and pop" place their food would be better. You are almost better off getting breakfast tacos from a "chain" Mexican joint here in Kyle. There is not "Spicy" about a bite I take from this place. Perhaps they should rename it, "Darn it I should have gone somewhere else, but I will settle...
Read moreI don't leave many reviews but this one Is warranted. Went for Mother's Day meal with my wife and stepdaughter. Our meal was good and our waitress was very good. However, at the end of the meal we asked another waitress who came by for to go boxes and I asked for a to go tea. This other waitress LIED and told me they did not have to go cups. I've been in here twice in the last 10 days and had no problem getting a to go cup. From where I sat I could see plenty of to go cups behind the counter. I then asked another waitress as well as our waitress for a to go tea which they were going to get and the waitress that lied to me stopped both of them from getting my tea. At this point I spoke to the manager and told her I was lied to; she responded by "I'm sure she didn't mean to" It was very blatant that she did flat out lie and the manager was trying to defend her and cover her lie. I told the manager I purchased my tea and just like a to go food box I want my tea to go. I also told her my previous visits in the last 10 days I had no issues getting a to go cup. The manager was not apologetic and said because of Covid they were short on to go containers in general. This wasn't the case the last 10 days apparently and just happened? The main point and principle of all of this was one of the waitresses lied to me! Seemed liked it was more important to defend a lying waitress than to make sure customer satisfaction was achieved. Have to really think hard about going back after this experience. Unfortunate too because was really beginning to...
Read moreI love that they have a drive through but you better have an idea of what you want since there's no menu outside for you & the family to review (not an easy task with kids or if you don't have their menu memorized). It moves but not at a fast rate so if you're in a rush don't expect to go quickly.
The staff are friendly & all smiles. I like them. The inside is clean & can get packed quickly if going during peak times as it's not very spacious. However, they've made the best use of the space for sitting.
It's not fancy, but it's one of the things I appreciate as I'm there for the food, company, and friendly staff ... not high jacked up prices to pay for fancy decorations. It's in a small community area (Kyle) and it's a place I can take my family (2 adults & 2 kids) and not break the bank so it's still on our list of places we can go eat.
I love the breakfast taco special of getting the 3 tacos (same kind). Its a great price!! We like them so much that for class parties we buy them by the dozen and save a few bucks compared to Taco Cabana. They taste so much better too, so we will continue buying from Spicey Bites. It's the only Mexican restaurant I know of that has a drive through (no taco cabana is not Mexican food...lol).
I've been able to place over the phone orders for the big orders. I appreciate that as they know what to expect & can time the order properly for me to pickup.
I have so many great things to say about this place. I highly suggest you come check out this...
