You gotta check this place out once, even if divey bars are not your thing. Open the door and looks like you walked into a scene from the Big Lebowski. Very reasonable drink prices, the smallest door I’ve ever had to walk thru to get to a bathroom. If you are planning on having a Bud, Coors or Miller, better find something else. Have a good White Russian Menu. When the bartender poured me one I could tell it wasn’t the best or top of the line ingredients but it tasted well and didn’t cost a lot. Plus I can’t say I have found a beer vending machine besides a curling club in North Dakota.

This was my favorite part of downtown La Crosse!! Staff were so friendly and one of the bartenders let us look through a book about the history of the place when I asked about it. The drinks were amazing! Coming from Milwaukee where drinks are obnoxiously expensive, it was great to get a delicious drink for 3.00. They even have a beer vending machine! I would recommend a white Russian since they have a whole menu of different varieties. I absolutely loved the old decor! I will definitely be back!

We dont come here very often but always have good service (despite the sign 😉) and great drinks! You can never go wrong with the color of the bar!

They do mostly imports or b-brands. No Bud, No Coors, No Miller. It really is a great atmosphere...good mix of young people, older people, different lifestyles etc. It is little changed in 80 years, and Casino Girl still looks down from her pertch at all who come. Color of the Bar is their marquee drink...advertised as a shot but can get as a mixed drink as well. Russians are also what they are known for and do both white and black very well. Rhinelander shorts are only $1 if you're pinching pennies. Jukebox is usually playing classics at a...
