Global Grounds Coffee — Restaurant in La Crosse

My husband and I were out looking for a late in the day pick-me-up. We first visited Moka, and spent 14.00 something on our coffee. As soon as we took our first sip, we were met with a bitter and old taste. We immediately threw those out and headed home. We happen to live on the same street that Global Grounds is located on. We decided last minute to ride down there and see if they were open and they were. We ordered two small coffees, one cappuccino and a macchiato. Wow! Great coffee! I was really surprised at how tame and smooth their coffee is. I noticed inside that not only was this place really nice atmosphere wise, there is also a little reading nook located inside this coffee shop right in the window area with live plants and adorable decorations. Before today, I’d never been here once. After today, you guys will probably see me daily. Great cafe option!! conveniently right next to campus. There are plenty of places to sit including tables, bar tops, and a conversational corner. I spent around 3 hours here on a Friday afternoon and there was moderate traffic of people in and out. Not to busy that there’s no place for ya but definitely not empty! I got an iced dirty chai and a bagel, both staples were perfect and the service was great! Both girls working were friendly to me and eachother plus it seemed like they delegated shift work so well! Was just nice to see :)

Global grounds is such a fun place. Its aesthetic inside and is very whimsical, with hanging plants and art on the walls. Their menu has something for everybody as far as drinks go- including a smoothie with espresso in it that was strangely delicious! (Peanut butter banana smoothie with a shot of espresso- caffeine and espresso- um yes please) As far as food options go.. they have an avacado toast, smoothie bowls and I got a seasonal cupcake last time I went, but I recommend coming here if you’re craving a fancy drink and a cute place to hang out or get some work done.
