Got food poisoning from under cooked pizza and had shared the pizza with a poor homeless guy and some unfortunate woman who had asked for a slice; I'm not sure what happened for them. (Story of that below.) A sad note yet possibly entertaining, I had ordered the pizza at 11:35 ish PM on a Saturday night during the big dart tournament 5/18/2024 so the place was packed. I went outside to eat on a bench and just enjoy the night life and buzz of all the people walking around at midnight ish eating my pizza. The pizza tasted under cooked but I had missed dinner and was starving. A homeless guy asked for some change and I told him I didn't have any. He then asked me if I had some food. There I am eating my pizza with a big 20 inch box on my lap. (Plan was to take slices to work over the next couple days.) Obviously I couldn't say "Nope... I don't have any food." with food chompping away in my mouth and on my lap. So I give him a slice and he wandered around and then asked to sit next to me. I say sure. He starts eating the slice. I eat another disappointing slice and then another. The homeless guy asks for another and I give it to him since the pizza was very disappointing and not feeling right in my stomach and I'm not sure I want to eat it tomorrow because I am kinda just disgusted with it. I head to my car. On the way to my car a woman says something like "Oh he's got the pizza!" and asks for a slice. I tell her it's pepperoni and pineapple and she says she'd love a slice. I give her a slice and head for home. I get home around 1:30 am. I pass out. I wake up roughly 2 hours later at 3:30 am with intense abdominal pain and cramps. I try and fall back to sleep and then another blast of pain hits me so strong I roll out of bed instantly and am on my feet wondering what is going on. My brain is starting to wake up and I realize I gotta get to a toilet before it's too late. I race to the bathroom and realize I have food poisoning and begin to poop my guts out. Glory be to all that is mighty. Talk about a colon cleanse! I think I lost 5, maybe 7 pounds. IDK. Maybe that's way too much weight but I'm pretty sure there was nothing left in my guts. While I wait a bit longer on the toilet to make sure there's no plague left to spew forth from me, I remembered the poor homeless guy and the woman who had wanted slices/slice of my pizza. Did they suffer the same fate that I had? I kinda want to go down town tomorrow and see if I run into them and see if they suffered the same fate. I called the next day and the manager said he was going to give me a refund. Happened to go back 6 days later (5/24/2024) and asked if he had approved the refund request I sent. Said he denied it because I had lied and then he yelled at me and told me to never come back. Said I had been stealing pizza for years! LOL! Like what? How many other people are calling in and asking for refunds because of food poisoning? I've been going to this place for 13 years and got yelled at, called a lair, was told to never come back, and was told I had been stealing pizza for years! I've never got a refund from them and this would have been my first. Anyway, done going here. Hope you enjoyed my unfortunate experience. If I go down town tomorrow and I run into the two people I shared the pizza with I'll give and update and if they suffered the same fate as me I'll have them go let the Polito people know because maybe they'll believe them?

Pros: The pizza was amazing! We ordered a fresh pizza for the family and it was great! With some soft drinks, $34 for a family of 4 (plus optional tip). This is the kind of place where you order at a counter - there is no server. Slices are big! Cons: To call it "no frills" is an understatement. For example, the men's restroom didn't have a doorknob or a lock - looked like people were just setting the trash can in front of the door. Lots of places looked like a fresh coat of paint was about 30 years overdue. Still worth it.

First time at Polito’s, staying in La Crosse for the weekend, googled “best pizza in La Crosse”. The good: online ordering, menu looked promising. The bad: parking is hard to find, a medium pizza with tip is $25, pizza was mushy, wet and floppy. It was so undercooked it was inedible. I was nervous when the pickup time said 12 minutes from when we ordered it. I wanted to love it so much. They need to cook the pizzas longer. Maybe Ask them for well done with the spinach feta pie :)

I was with my son and his family at the Lacrosse location on Saturday, Nov 19, 2022 at about 4:30 pm. It was very quiet. My two granddaughters are 4 and 7 and they don’t have all the patience in the world. I ordered two large pizzas and we went towards the back of the restaurant to a booth and were the only ones in a booth for most of the time we were there. We had done this at the Wausau location and they had been here before and had a good idea of how long it took. (typically, 15 minutes) The kids were hungry. 5 pm, no pizza. 5:15 pm, no pizza. I did not want to be rude so we just sat there trying to be polite and not impatient. At 5:30 pm my sister in law went to get a few refills on our soft drinks and saw 2 large pizza boxes at the pick-up area. They had put someone else’s name on the order and after checking, our $50 worth of pizza was there getting cold. They only mumbled and did not apologize. We ate a few slices of semi-warm pizza and went on our way. On our way out they made no attempt at apologizing or saying the typical “thank you” I’m accustomed to at the Wausau location, which I go to at least once a week. There are many other choices in the Lacrosse area. This one is off the list now for the next time I come...

My friend tried to buy my dinner, and I told the associate no. He took my friends twenty and my twenty. He gave my friend 5 back, and myself two, for two pieces of pizza. When we told him he charged me 33 dollars for two slices of pizza, he slapped it out of my hands. The manager then came up, gave my fiend five more dollars, and told us to leave. All in all we paid 28 dollars for pizza they threw on The floor and, wouldn’t let us eat. Unbelievable pissed. We tried to warn a couple other customer who were behind us, they just laughed and told us that was common. They told us(visitors) that as long as we didn’t make any special requests we would be fine. That sounds to me like a business that is taking advantage of customers that may be too intoxicated to...
