Hearth House — Restaurant in La Mesa

It's really hard to like the place you used to work at when the new staff is spreading misinformation by telling people the actions of 1 person were being committed by the entire staff. Im pretty sure (hoping) the new owners don't know of this yet because they are quite nice people- and it's hard to imagine they would condone this sort of nonsense. But someone should probably make sure they're aware that one of their bartenders is slandering the names and defaming the character of an entirely innocent staff.. Had we all been a part of the trouble, we would have all been arrested right along with the ONE PERSON that was investigated and subsequently jailed. This bartender should really get their facts straight before telling everyone including customers of the previous ownership such false and hurtful information. It's not a sports bar. They play sports on the TV's, but you can't hear it or see it because of the obnoxiously loud DJ and the people on the dance floor block your view. There is no food, just a food truck that shows up at 10:30 or later after you've already gotten food somewhere else. And trying to get the bartenders attention is like fighting through a mob. If you sit down at the bar, they won't ask you if you want a drink....you have to wave and shout to get in a drink order. Nice people, but misleading name... it's not a sports bar....it's just a bar with a mediocre DJ that plays music so loud you can't hear your friends speaking to you...

This is a great dive bar spot in La Mesa. They have great service, and fun events like karaoke (turs-thurs) and DJs and country night and all sorts of things like that. It's not a super busy, packed, crowded environment and though it can be busy, you can usually find a spot to sit. There's no food offered, but they have free popcorn and you can bring in any outside food you want. If you come in on a day the Padres are playing, if they WIN then Coors Light pints are only $2 for an hour after the game!!
