J-K's Greek Cafe — Restaurant in La Mesa

I usually don't leave bad reviews. I can usually find something to like during a visit, not this time. It was 26.00 for 2 gyro sandwiches that were average size so not overflowing with meat no French fries and 2 small orders of fried zucchini which were from frozen as they were really soggy. The tzatziki sauce was really weird tasting I've never had it made with what tasted like fennel and dill and it was chunky not smooth, I did not taste cucumber at all. I ordered through Grubhub, A Gyro sandwich and the appetizer sampler plate. The 1st thing I bit into was the dolmadis. It was horrible, over loaded with cumin and 7 spice. It was so loaded that I had to spit it out immediately. I am almost sure those people have nothing to do with Greece. It tasted more like North African cuisine. The spanakopita was made frozen and reheated in a microwave, it was soggy and wet, the spinach was in clumps. The hummus reminded me when I was 7 years old and made it in my country Lebanon. I feel bad leaving a sorta bad review because the guy was super nice but the food was just not good. The fries came from a freezer bag straight into the fryer and were served plain (usually at Greek restaurants they throw some paprika on em or something). The gyro meat and pita bread were very dry, luckily I asked for extra tzatziki because the sandwich came with none on it.
