I just got off the phone with the owner's daughter Angelica or something like that. About a week ago I ordered the #1 combination plate Especial Mexican dinner to go. I enjoyed the meal so much I ordered the same meal tonight , the plate comes with 2 enchiladas, rice and beans in one plate and the 2nd plate has beef taco, guacamole, chili con queso tostada. I asked my adult son to pick up the dinner for me, since my car is in repair shop. He did and dropped it off with me. He left to go home. When i took out my dinner from the bag i discovered the 2nd plate was missing which is called the cold plate that has beef taco, guacamole and chili con queso. I was very disapponted to say the least. I decided to call and let them know that they had messed up on my order and i was missing part of my ordered. I was speaking to the same person who had taken my order. He asked me if i could return and pick ut up. I let him know i had no available transportation. I then asked him how were they going to make this right. That's when the Owners Daughter got on the phone. She was not apologetic at all and she stated that next time i visited their restaurant she would make the order right no charge. That's when i asked for her name and that's when she let me know she was the Owner's Daughter . So at that point I said "So next time i come in to the restaurant i just have to let the waitress know that the Owners daughter had approved a no charge on the meal." That's when the Owner's Daughter made it clear that only the cold plate would be no charge. Well they can keep their cold plate. I'm a long time LaPorte resident and I promise I will let all my family and all my neighbors know how they messed up on my Over Priced #1 Especial Mexican dinner , ruined my meal and how The Owners daughter showed me how unappreciative they are of my business. Read moreMy fiancé and I stopped in on a Monday morning for breakfast. The food was good, but our entire experience was unfortunately overshadowed by how we were treated. I wasn’t feeling well after we sat down, so I asked my fiancé if he could walk me to the truck while I waited. He left his wallet, phone, and sunglasses at the table and told the waitress at the register that he’d be right back after helping me outside. He even pointed to the table, and she nodded in acknowledgment.
We had parked directly in front of the restaurant, so he started the truck for me. Within moments, we were chased down by a staff member who began yelling and accusing us of trying to dine and dash. My fiancé explained what was going on and went straight back inside, but the employee he spoke to denied ever talking to him. Three other customers saw what happened and actually spoke up on his behalf, but despite that, he was kicked out.
This is a restaurant my fiancé and his family have been going to for decades. It was my first time there, and he was genuinely excited to share it with me. Now the whole experience is completely soured. We understand that misunderstandings can happen, but this situation was handled so poorly. We were treated with suspicion instead of basic respect, and it left a really bad taste.
