Today, I wanted to try something different. I thought I would try this place because it had good reviews and it was near my work. Unfortunately, coming here was a mistake. I ordered ahead because I did not have much time for lunch. My co-worker decided to come and give it a try. When we arrived and went in, I told the guy that I had placed a to-go order. He gave me the order and told me the total but, he did not mention anything else. I had just happened to see a small post on the upper portion of the register window stating that there was a fee for credit card purchases. So, before paying, I asked how much it was and told him that it would have been nice if the fee had been mentioned when I called on the phone (I told him that I found them online and I had never been there before). He did not apologize or anything, and said, "There is a fee. Everyone charges a fee (with a straight face)." I said, No, everyone doesn't and I do not go to those places." Then, he said, "Just take it, I don't want a bad review." I told him that I didn't want to take it for free, just keep it. But, he kept insisting that I take it. Finally, I asked him if he accepted Zelle. He said yes, so I paid him via Zelle. I was glad to be able to deal with that. I am not that person.
As for my co-worker, he wanted to order two tacos so he told him and the man told him that he was really busy (there were 8 orders ahead of him) and it would take about 30 min. So, he asked if there was anything that he could get. He said no. He did not seem to care and he was not nice. He had an attitude the entire time. That is unfortunate, because the food was decent. However, I prefer good customer service, good food, etc., and this place missed the mark. So, needless to say, I would not recommend this place and I will...

The fish tacos have a great flavor to them, but wait the menudo soup has no fat or stinky smell to it. This place can cook good food. It’s a hole in the wall a real hole in the wall. The best hole in the wall I ever ate at and that’s including a lot of places I’ve been to. I drive far to just come here and eat. The owner is so kind a gentle man I dropped my little wallet as I walked away. I didn’t notice as I came back to pick up my order he so kindly gave it to me. This place gets a 10 in my books. Please come out to support this place because in all honesty anyone who makes food flavored the way they flavor their foods and for as fresh it is always fresh deserves to be top chef. He turnt...
Read moreAlma Delias is at the top of the top places to eat in SGV list so I bookmarked it for a future occasion when I saw it mentioned in the newsletter.
The future occasion happened to be a Tuesday when their tacos are $1 (excepting the fish taco) and I bought 10 tacos for $10.79 after tax.
I ordered the al pastor, carnitas, pollo, birria, and asada. The only ones I recognized were the chicken and beef (asada) since they look similar to tacos at other places, but everything was delicious. Everything was perfectly seasoned, not too salty, and with just enough toppings. Green salsa to go with it made it all the more perfect.
Surprisingly their parking lot wasn't packed around 6 pm on a Tuesday, and it was easy to park.
The inside of the restaurant is small so it was a bit cramped waiting for my order, but otherwise getting my order to-go wasn't...
