I thoroughly enjoyed savory chicken enchiladas with mild green sauce, Spanish rice and refried beans. The side of fresh green picante house salsa, was an added bonus to the house made tortilla chips. (Although I personally heaped it on top of my enchiladas for a flavorful 'kick'!) 😋

The hot Mexican "Champurrado" in a tall coffee cup, was a perfect accompaniment to a very delicious meal. I would highly recommend this family restaurant to anyone looking for a quality "authentic" Mexican restaurant, off of Main St., in Old Town La Puente, right near Old Glendora Ave. The decorations are very culture friendly w/ lots of faux greenery, hanging vines, parrots & even a monkey suspended from the ceiling!? 🐒

My family has loved this restaurant for generations. My great great grandma used to take us to eat here. Sadly, the food is barely decent and the only thing that makes up for it is the atmosphere. A while back I brought my boyfriend here to try it (since my family always loved it). It was okay, I had a torta and he had some enchiladas but it was nothing special. Our waters were hardly refilled and on top of that when he went to pay the woman who had been our waitress/lady at the register told him that he was handsome and should take her daughter on a date. We were there as a couple, it was blatantly clear but she still gestured to her daughter working in the kitchen for him to talk to her. I've been here a few times. Food is ok. After today I will not be back. Last time I came there was a mentally ill woman sitting in booth next to us. The entire time we were there she was giving us the dirtiest looks. Saying profanities under her breath. She wasn't bothering us directly but can be a bit distracting while trying to have a conversation eating a meal. Today, we came back and same lady there.
