Sabor de Mexico Restaurant — Restaurant in La Puente

so I have been sitting all day trying to figure out how to word this. we had dinner here last night it was my husbands birthday and we had planned on eating at another restaurant that we love in the neighborhood but no one bothered to check only to find out they are closed on Wednesdays so he did a quick google search and found this place.

when we walked in it was empty but it was clean and pleasant the waitress/hostess was super friendly and provided GREAT service. 3 of us ordered Horchata mine tasted a little sour but everyone else said that they didn't taste it and it was fine so IDK unfortunately we all ordered pretty much the same thing but none of us were really impressed with the food the meat tasted like it came out of a can the chips tasted either stale or like they were cooked in old oil the enchiladas were similar to a tv dinner. all in all we weren't impressed.

Amazing little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. Great hospitality from start to finish; the host was incredible and makes very pleasant conversation and the Hispanic music playing pleasantly in the background gave you a real feel for the authenticity of the restaurant. :) The mini tacos were delicious and the host was very gracious and honest when he told us that "we had a casualty" because one of the tacos fell but he gave us a fresh one right away. The Chilaquiles were too notch and you can tell right away that the ingredients were fresh and everything was seasoned to perfection. Dining Experience, paintings make it look more like a bedroom than a Diner. Booths are on the very small side, four people would be elbow to elbow. Lighting was beautiful.7/10

Prices are pretty high, like fancy Restaurant high. A Double Cheeseburger, fries and large drink will set you back almost $15! A asada burrito almost $12 5/10

Cleanliness and Sanitation , was very clean and open. You can tell they clean very well and often. Bathroom was clean. Only ding they get here is I didn’t spot any sanitizer for diners. 9/10
