Del Taco — Restaurant in La Puente

Been to this location many times since it is on my way home. The staff is not very friendly every time. I understand if they are busy. I have worked in fast food and now work in retail so it can be very overwhelming. These recent times I have been there have not been busy. I have receipts. But the last few times I have visited this location has not been so welcoming. I visited once when an employee named Tahlia was working and gave me attitude when I asked for just ketchup and sauce! And she forgot one of my beef tacos. There was no line. No one in front or back of me and she looked annoyed when I explained she forgot my taco and a straw for my drink. I also have visited here tonight around 4:50am. I’m on my way home again after a long night and they claimed to not be accepting cash. So we said we only have cash so that works. Then they explain to us that they’re cash register is not working so we won’t be able to orde. And gave no apology whatsoever. It is very disappointing the way they handled the situation. I think management needs to do more because this is a 24 hour fast food. It is expected to come here and order something. They told us “go ahead and report us” so here I am writing a review. Unless they were hiding somewhere on the premises, there are only two people working the entire restaurant... This was around 3:30 in the afternoon. Today is Taco Tuesday and the taco Tuesday night special pricing starts at 3 p.m. in the afternoon. So why they were so understaffed is beyond me. I was drawn into stop there because of the promotional Banner they had posted on the street side advertising two double Del burgers for $5. I thought this was way too good an offer to turn down. Having looked at the banner upon leaving, this was an old promotion... The date on the banners is 2017. So I'm not entirely certain that this is a storewide special deal. Having said that, the two Del Burgers I got for $5 were substantially smaller then the one I'm used to receiving in the combo meal I've bought in the past. I was among four other parties waiting for their food orders inside the restaurant. The other three customers we're only there to use the bathroom. All were forced to order something before the manager would open the bathroom for them to use. I'm not going to make any complaints about the cleanliness or the competency of the two employees that were on the clock. My one stars for the quality of the one time...

I really like this DT location. The customer service is good, not just because I'm a reg customer, but new employees who don't know me are trained to be nice, & professional as well. My bf & I like to come here, because our orders are almost always fulfilled correctly. Their food is tastier than some other DTs...more meat, more cheese! I love the new HONEY MANGO CHICKEN they're offering this season! Delish! When we buy chicken tacos for our baby dogs, they give them a healthy serving as well, not a skimpy portion. This spot isn't the prettiest to look at, but it's convenient to come here, being close to the frwy on ramps, and shops nearby.
