Update: 2nd visit on 05/13/21 since the last undesirable one. The food was better prepared per customizations but it was cold. Thanks to the ever failing curbside process that was poorly executed. I ordered a regular beef platter, no lettuce, add onions and green peppers. Side of limited time eggplant hummus with pita chips. It was National Hummus Day! One thing I'll praise is they give you a lot of pita chips with this side order but the eggplant hummus portion was not as plentiful to match. All was delicious but still cold and you'll see why. For safety reasons, I choose curbside so I don't have to go inside. I hoped they would get it right this time around. My curbside order was ready to go but it was never fulfilled via curbside! I tapped the "I'm here" button (this is new feature) in the order confirmation email and waited for the food to come out. Waited but no one came. Other curbside restaurants are really good at this but not here. I had to walk into the store and pick it up. The staff had no idea. I'm thinking what in the world! They weren't busy when I walked in to get my food. I asked them how their curbside orders work and they said they hear a ding sound in their tablet to let them know when an order is ready to be brought out to curbside but the tablet was not ringing the sound or they completely missed it?!? Not sure what it was but that's not good end to end order fulfillment. 2nd time now I've had a bad experience with this store. Sigh. Please pay attention to your order ahead orders! Such as when they are expected to be done and picked up so you can keep tabs. Keep your digital devices on and working at all times to ensure you are not letting orders age away or leaving customers hanging. I.e. curbside pick up. Always pick up your phones. It would be helpful to have designated parking spots for curbside orders. I'm disappointed I had to experience another negative purchase being that the previous visit to the store was quite terrible. Ugh and you forgot to put pita in the platter? OK this is basic plating of ingredients for your known product. I double checked my order details in case I accidently requested no pita bread. Nope, it should have been included. I know you can do better so please do better and stop saying sorry! ---- 11/18/20 My 1st visit. Horrible pick up experience. Long lines. You need a doorstop if you're going to do front door walk up order/pick up. People do not follow 6 ft distancing guidelines which raises the concern that there should be marked 6 foot indicators on the walkway outside the store. This store does not pick up their phone! I called several times parked in my car while seeing several people in line. The point was to do curbside pick up so I wouldn't need to go inside and risk others not practicing safety. Very poor process for ordering and pick up. Needs evaluation and improvement. The food was a disappointment. I was so excited to get it today but beginning from the pick up, it was sign of bad all around to the end. My platter felt more like a salad than a fully portioned evenly balanced platter of every ingredient. Got a small combo platter of Gyro/Falafel. The falafel was great after retoasting it in the oven. Had to reheat everything as I got my order late due to curbside pick up failure. Many things made today's experience disappointing so the meal was bound to not impress. I ate my meal but in an upsetting state. I definitely will never return to this store again. I will find another location to go to. I've been to other locations in Long Beach, Costa Mesa, and DTLA. The DTLA location is my favorite. They really take care of you. They need to teach Rowland Heights how it's done!! I got a survey from Halal Guys. They will def hear from me.

If you want workers not knowing what meat they give out, got incompetent "managers" who can't can't train staff, or herself to properly give out the correct food, can't handle staff's mistakes, can't handle customer complaints, and want to speak to a wall then come here. I came here on Friday around 11:30 and ordered my usual gyro bowl. Every time I ordered I received beef meat, but when I opened my meal it was.2 different kinds of meat. Refer to picture: one is brown looks like beef, other meat is white clearly didn't order that or know what that is. I called the store to ask them about this issue, and the guy first claims it's chicken then a different girl comes on the phone tells me it's lamb. No apology, no effort trying to figure out the issue, just flat like "No I can't do anything" but she claims she's manager. Sure you are a manger who can't fix issues, give refunds to a WRONG ORDER, who don't have access to the camera, just an incompetent, idiotic, rude, "manager'. Then she tells me she has a "general manager". Ha, what do you know. The GM is WORSE, clearly all the uneducated staff stems from her "manager". I get on the phone with Candice (so called manager), she just blatantly tells me that her staff is right, its 100% all beef meat, she has other things to do, and she doesn't want to go back and forth, just telling me to come and get my money. First of all Candice, when you get complaints you first apologize. Second, you figure out the issue. Third, you act accordingly TO that issue. i have an allergy to lamb, I didn't ORDER lamb, so what you do is APOLOGIZE that your STAFF made a mistake, not "my staff is right". At that point I knew talking to this dumb person would get me nowhere. She clearly is not a manager as she claims, and if she is they are desperate for someone in charge so they just shoved anyone in that position. I will write a formal complain letter to the headquarters in NY Halal Guys :)

I've been wanting to try this place for a few years and finally did today! Try it with both the hot sauce and white sauce to elevate it to where it needs to be! I got my order to go, sauces came on the side. I was a bit hesitant to try a white sauce that I've never tried before so my initial reaction was to order without. I had a beef gyro platter. I loved the vibrant color on the plate, everything tasted nice and clean together. I'd say from a flavor profile it felt like everything was hitting at a 7 and then I added the hot sauce last and it hit like 3 levels higher in terms of flavor intensity. It had this nice stinging burn but not over powering. Just enough to fight you without being able to win. I've had Mediterranean food before, so if you're familiar with that, it's just gyro meat instead of kebabs so in terms of deviation its not that far of a stretch. I was initially hesitant because I didn't know what halal was. I'd say if you've been sitting on the fences deciding if you wanna try it, go ahead and try it! Lastly, it comes in two sizes think like regular or large. I think me and the girlfriend could have comfortably shared a large, I think platter is the portion size, and it would have been a nice light lunch that doesn't leave you feeling icky and weighed down.
