Here’s your review with a more polished and engaging tone while keeping your personality intact:

Roberta’s Village Inn is exactly what you’d hope for in a classic diner—warm, inviting, and full of old-school charm. Open since 1969, it has that timeless feel that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. Despite being packed, the wait was surprisingly short, which was a nice bonus.

The portions are generous, and the prices are fair. I ordered the Farm Style breakfast, which came with two eggs (I went with fried), bacon, and seasoned hash browns. That alone was plenty, but I also got to choose between toast, a pancake, or biscuits and gravy. Naturally, I went with the biscuits and gravy. Everything was tasty—the eggs were a little under-salted, but that’s an easy fix with the salt and pepper at the table. The hash browns were seasoned with Lawry’s, which gave them a nice kick, and the bacon was exactly as it should be: crispy and delicious. The biscuits and gravy were excellent, and I managed to sneak a bite of my wife’s pancake—also really good—but at that point, I was too full to keep going. Honestly, I felt like I needed to sprint through the streets of La Verne to burn off everything I just ate.

The only downside is that it’s cash-only. I know Roberta’s isn’t the only place in La Verne that still does this, but it’s 2025, and it’s just not the most convenient. Not a dealbreaker, just something to keep in mind.

Overall, this was a great first visit, and I’d definitely come back. Classic diner vibes, great portions, and solid food—what’s...

I can’t believe I never knew this little diner even existed and I have lived in La Verne for over 25 years. Roberta’s is a classic old school diner with decor to match. It’s that classic Coca Cola look , old cash register, pay phone on the wall, CASH ONLY ( ATM machine available inside ) back to the basics feel. Great food and large portions. The menu has a nice selection of comfort like foods. I am looking forward to trying something outside of the breakfast menu! FYI- breakfast burritos is HUGE! Be prepared! You can feel the family owned vibe inside! All three times I’ve been there the service was excellent! Probably some of the best in town. Not only are they friendly, they know their stuff. And you never have to worry about flagging down a server for anything. They are on top of it! This is a great example of how the service should be everywhere you go. I was unsure of what to order because none of the breakfast combinations included all the items I wanted. At least not without being complicated. The waitress kindly asked me what all the items were, then told me what to order. She had combined one order, and added one side to it, in order to give me the lowest price possible for everything I wanted. It was awesome! She was hands down the best server/waitress I’ve ever had! So when your passing thru La Verne I recommend giving Roberta’s a try! You won’t be disappointed!

This is my favorite American Style sitdown restaurant. They have excellent staff, cooks, owners, chef all working together to put out amazing food at very reasonable prices. No matter what I order it comes out fantastic. They have a super team of waitresses and waiters who provide best service you will find. I wish to thank all of them. I would like to give a special mention to Frank. He did a fantastic job of taking our order. He even remembered we usually had cheddar cheese on our omelett and preferred the blueberry pancakes intead of toast and suggested it. He came to our table at the right time to get what we wanted without hovering. They have great steaks, wonderful breakfasts, and their "specials of day" is always perfect. Last but not least is a special thanks to Roberta. She has put a great team of people together which always makes it a memorable visit each time we go. Thanks again to all the wonderful people...
