Thai Orchids Restaurant — Restaurant in La Vista

The food is delicious but the service is sloooow. Don't go unless you have 1&1/2 - 2 hours . I have eaten here several times and every dish i have tried has been excellent. However it has taken a little over an hour at the best and most times 1& 1/2 - 2 hours. Last visit we arrived at 5 pm with one other couple seated and 3 takeouts waiting. Our drink meal and appetizer order was taken at 5:30 we got water and drinks at 5:45 appetizer at 6:10 and meal at 6:25 paid bill and left 7:07. I would like to eat here more often but don't have the time and I am not sure wife will agree to go anymore with service level.

I have since used takeout several times and gotten a little better 30 min time. I still see and hear from people that the dine in is still sloww with the combination of takeout orders. The staff is small family owened and operated and the food is 5 star and the people are good but appear to be short staffed for amount of business they get. This really is one of the best thai places i have eaten. and the family is nice. One night it appeared that the wife was ill so it was only the cook and a helper trying to do everything and he was overloaded with takeout calls and dine in customers. I love this place I hope they continue and are able to handle business level with some help. 5 star food 2 star service 4...

Ludicrously slow. We dined at one of their tables and waited a half hour for springrolls, and 50 minutes for our entrees (which didn't even come out at the same time). It even took 10 minutes to be seated as no employees were in the dining room. Our drink order was never taken, and then we asked four times for a soda before telling them to forget about it. Thankfully the garnish on the springroll plate was an orange slice, which kept our infant happy for a few moments.

The service was nonexistant as they showed zero personality. Their focus was clearly on pumping out the takeout orders as the woman who appeared to be the manager marched back and forth by all of the seated customers to enter orders that were phoned in. We were never asked how it was or if we needed anything else.

The food was far from impressive and definitely not worth the wait. The pad thai was basically tamarind and chili flavored. I spotted one piece of tofu, and didn't see any egg as I rooted around the pound of noodles that were on the plate. The ginger chicken was essentially soup with undercooked onions and a random smattering of oddly sized ginger pieces.

Maybe they should focus on what they are decent at: cheap takeout loosely inspired by Thai food. They ought to close the...

I am giving one star strictly only for the food that I have eaten here in the past . Obviously the food was tasty or I wouldn't have returned. I usually get it to go. After the upright disrespect and rudeness we received today, I WILL NOT BE RETURNING.... EVER! Today the manager sat us. Gave us a menu. Didn't offer us any drinks. Meanwhile... Other people were being seated after us. They were receiving drinks, appetizers, some even received their entrees before she ever came back to us just ask what we want to drink. WTH? She came back another 15-20 minutes later to ask our order. Without our drinks! It was absolutely ridiculous... They weren't very busy, the manager seemed like she would rather be anywhere, doing anything besides serving us .. Which is EXACTLY what she did! She was cleaning off tables, refilling waters (while we had nothing to drink), we finally got up and walked out after we had waited at least a half hour without even having a glass of water brought to our table and she was standing in the front gazing at her phone. Worst...
