Small little hole in the wall with excellent food. I've ate here for 5 or 6 years now. And it saddens me a little to write this review. But it's what you do when these things happen. So that they might not happen again. Or so we tell ourselves. Last night I ordered my dinner through grubhub and paid using a credit card. I got there and no one was waiting in line so I stepped up to the counter and was talking to a nice lady within moments. So the foods good, The prompt attitude is 5 star service indeed, so what's the problem? The problem was the one problem you never want to have with any business but especially not one of your favorite place to get Chinese food at were. The problem was payment and the obvious ñ oilpurposeful intentions anyone with a moderate degree of ability to read body language could pick up on. See you pay with your card online but when you get there the bag with your food in it has a receipt taped to it that says unpaid on it. They're trying and get paid twice and doing it on purpose. The readln I'm pretty sure it's on purpose is because the instant you show them the receipt everythings fine. They hardly look at it. Now, Their English isn't that great neither because when I tried asking if I could run my card to do a tip, as I forgot to do it through the app, they couldn't understand me. So for their to be no need to explain the receipt issues at all, they literally didnt even look at my phone screen, it just really looks bad on them. When I was outside in my vehicle calling the card company and verifying payment, I was parked directly in front of the front door with a straight shot through the whole restaurant, the kitchen, and to the back door. I was watching everyone one inside and she never once pointed towards me or at the receipt on my bag and you could tell whatever they were talking about had nothing to to do with my food. So without any more discussion with her co-workers or with me about said unpaid food she somehow resolved the issue and found my payment. Yet there's no new receipt printed and put over the old one? It's just to obvious she knew what she was doing the whole time. Upon confronting her she did relent pretty immediately. So thats nice to know. They won't fight Like I said in the beginning, I take no pleasure is writing these types of reviews. This has been my got to restaurant for Chinese and it will continue to be. It sucks that they would attempt to take advantage of customers on such a deceitful way As long as one is vigilant and doesn't leave their proof at the house charging when you go to pick up your food you won't get any resistance if you have to call them out. The food is always consistent, well priced,...
Read moreNewish to the area and my girlfriend and I were really hankering for some good Chinese food. Seeing the reviews on this place weren't perfect we decided to take a chance and give them a shot regardless. We got the Chow mein to split, sweet and sour chicken for her, and an egg drop soup for me.
Starting with the good. Service was fantastic, they called to confirm if I wanted the Chow mein as it has some crispy noodles instead of soft noodle. We ordered for pick up and the front of house staff was also very polite when we arrived and confirmed our order for us before we left. Sadly this is where the good points end.
The food itself was incredibly bland, the meat for both dishes tasted virtually unseasoned. The sweet and sour chicken was also heavily over breaded. It was mainly breading and what little chicken there was underneath was incredibly disappointing. The chow mein also suffered but for different reasons. It was surprising moist and mushy (probably overcooked), not what I am accustomed to as far as chow mein. It also resembled more of a soup than chow mein when I opened the box. we didn't even bother trying to finish it (we are usually big fans of leftovers). Lastly the egg drop soup was decent after it cooled down for about 45 minutes. It was ungodly hot to the point where I'm shocked it wasn't boiling over in the container and that's not an exaggeration sadly.
Overall I don't think I'm super picky when it comes to food, but I was baffled that out of all three of the items not a single one was even slightly enjoyable beyond the egg drop soup. Safe to say back of house is checked out and we won't return until the...
Read moreSecond experience I spent $30 on Uber eats to be fed at home since all my cars are currently unavailable to drive with the kids. I'm addicted to buying/selling cars haha. Anyways, I ordered the special with chow mein, fried rice, general tso & some Mongolian beef I think. $20 subtotal, didn't receive my drink, but the taste was insane. Of course the remaining $10 is fees and tip for UberEats but wow, the taste of this food is dramatically better than competitors 😂
First experience I ordered a shrimp and fried rice dinner special (c.19 $10.95), and a small egg drop soup ($5.95). My soup was at least twice the portion I expected which is great. The reason I'm leaving this review is the quality of the shrimp and vegetables, how they were cooked, the service from the front counter. God bless the chef who cooked these veggies & shrimp, not only were they delectable in appearance, they were fresh, well seasoned with the spicy sauce, and the shrimp portion was that of a $16 plate, much more than I'd paid for. I left China house resenting myself for not learning Chinese, so I could properly thank my chef in his language for the incredible dinner I had. Thank you...
