I ordered a veggie fajita, and as a vegetarian was excited to have some sauteed veggies and all of the extras the menu says. However when I got home after waiting and dealing with a bad multitasker at the front, turns out I got veggies not listed in the order and none that were written on the menu and they were steamed not sauteed in any seasoning or sauce. Then rice, no beans or guac, sour cream.. nothing else just a plain meal. Maybe because I've lived in Mexico and know what the term "Fajita" means, I had believed I'd be getting what's listed on the menu. After being told I'm wrong multiple times, the manager came out to confirm that they don't serve what is listed on the menu.. so I'm really unsure of how to order any of their food in the future if they are serving something completely different than what the menu says and fighting you about it instead did just owning it. I don't mind mistakes, I'm patient but when you attack me about something being wrong and then bring me the correct thing, obviously it was wrong. Please read over your own menu and serve food that you say you serve. I will never come here again on service alone, not even the fact I had to drive and extra forty minutes to argue in order to get what I originally ordered. Worst experience ever, and I've been in customer service over fifteen years leading teams and becoming the most successful each place I go, maybe it's just harder for other people to be kind and accountable to make the moment right. I didn't even request a refund, just wanted the right...
Read moreThe host was welcoming but it didn't seem as friendly or as delicious as some of the other places we have been. My wife ordered the chili rellano which was pretty average compared to the places we frequent. I ordered the chili colorado which is my favorite Mexican dish. Not every place has the colorado on the menu but I typically use this menu item to gauge the quality of the cuisine if it is offered. The portions were a little smaller than we expected looking at the prices and the flavors were pretty average. Not super delicious but good enough for me to finish everything on the plate (which is good). The flour torillas were stuck together which I don't prefer and they seemed to be the mission tortillas from the grocery store and microwaved. (Not made fresh in house). The server was polite but gave me a diet soda when I asked for a regular which isn't a deal breaker but we were one of 3 tables there that had people. It wasn't busy at all so that was a little disappointing. He also walked by several times seeing my empty glass and didn't ask if I wanted more. Same went for the chips. Oh and the salsa wasn't that great either. It tasted like the Baja Cafe stuff from the grocery store with some veggies and spices added to enhance the flavor. Not the worst place we have been but definitely far from the best. Prices were average for the menu items but in comparison to the portions they seemed a...
Read moreJust left the Mayan and badly want a nap. The waiter said to "make myself at home" because I come here all the time, but I don't dare. Still, I fantasize a little about bringing my own TV to watch while I have my favorite: Enchiladas Suizas.
You really need to try these. I get cravings for them and I rarely have anything else here. They are enchiladas with tomatillo sauce (I call it "Chile Verde" because it's green, but that's actually another dish). The sauce is slightly tangy and spicy, balanced with a -ploop- of sour cream on the side. The enchs. come filled with chicken, ground beef, or I forget what other choice. They are topped with melted cheese.
I usually shmear the sour cream all over the enchiladas. Then I dump some of the fresh-tasting salsa over the Spanish rice. Delicious. The beans already have a layer of cheese, which is perfect. The dish arrives super hot, so don't touch the plate. Then I pretend not to have been raised by wolves.
At this age, this stuff is bad for me physically. But it's all the naughty I have left, so don't bother me while I'm eating.... I might chomp on your hand.
Anyway...everything else I've ever had there is good, thumbs up. For those who eat it, they serve menudo every day. They also have that dish of melted cheese, and they can add chorizo. Sorry. My memory is going. When I eat that last one, I clutch my heart, but my loving companion...
