I feel I've been leaving terrible reviews lately across many restaurants in Olympia & Lacey. I'm trying my best not to. But this is two stars at best. Hear me out on the reasons. At least inform yourself prior to coming here... You'll thank me later!
There are two entrances to this place. One has a double door entrance that would block the breeze from when patrons come and go. Yet to my bewilderment, they have that door closed and use the single door for their patrons. Every time someone comes in the Cold comes in. Seems like a bad management move for that.
The next issue I had is it took over 15 minutes to just get water. Apparently they ran out of cups. This is a terrible thing to wait for. Upon arriving at the restaurant the tables were only half full. 9:45am on a Sunday. It should be peak time for everyone but they couldn't even keep up. It was obvious the waitresses were stressed and overworked.
There is no kids menu. I repeat.... No kids menu. So expect to pay for a normal priced food that a 5 year old couldn't be expected to finish.
My wife and son both ordered eggs, Hash browns, bacon, and toast. Kid had sausage instead of bacon.
The bacon was very greasy and poor quality bacon. The sausages were not great and came out cold (cooked but sat too long on the plate)
My son wanted chocolate milk, but it tasted terrible, and again no kid sizes and came out in a 10-12oz glass of chocolate milk... Quite a bit for a 5 year old. He didn't complain about the size, but it was obvious he wasn't happy with the quality.
I ordered biscuits and gravy with sausage on the side. My biscuits were very dry. Definitely not the greatest taste. Not the worst. Maybe 3/5 stars. My sausages came out in a small soup cup and again were warm at best (fully cooked, but barely warm)
Even my water was terrible and had a funky taste. It Wouldn't be difficult to add a filter to fix that, but again I'd chalk it up to poor management.
Now let's get into the atmosphere... He has a good look outside and inside... There is a bar attached in a separate room. Has a sports bar / restaurant feel.
Did I mention the doors? Literally the breeze every time funneled into the restaurant and even the group behind me further inside the restaurant complained. Bring your coats you'll want them.

Read moreservice was the worst i’ve ever experienced. we placed an online order around 12:35, my husband went in at 12:50 to see if it was almost done. they then told us that the order wasn’t placed correctly on their end and said sometimes it “messes up on our end” then were told it would be ready around 1:20. he went in at 1:15 and they said “it would be a while longer” then he went back in at 1:30 and nobody was at the front, at 1:40 a lady apologized and said she’d check on the order. 1:45 my husband said we’d just cancel it, we’ve been waiting for too long, somebody said it would be done soon and another lady at the front had the audacity to say “i don’t know what the problem is”. we finally got our food at 1:50. for context our order was an omlett, an order of biscuits and gravy, and eggs benedict. not like it was a crazy big order? food wise, wasn’t very good. the b&g lacked flavor and was mush, the omelette’s meat was all burnt, they forgot the toast that was supposed to come with it and the hashbrowns tasted like they were frozen and also mush. the eggs benedict was overcooked and tasted like i had a hard boiled egg drenched in sauce with no flavor with overcooked ham with mush hashbrowns. i also paid extra for a side of avocado (almost $5) and asked for it to be put on the eggs benedict. did that happen? no and my side of avocado was barely two slices. would not recommend this place to anyone and will never be back, wish i could get my tip back...
Read moreWe stopped in for a late breakfast. The restaurant was very clean. The service was friendly. The food was good. In my opinion, a bit larger plate should have been used. The only way to cut the French toast was by putting the bacon on top of the eggs. I am not opposed to my food touching, but each item deserves its own spot on the plate. Perhaps the psychology is to make you think, "Wow! That's a full plate of food!" But all I thought was, "what am I supposed to do with the bacon?" Now let's talk about the coffee. A good cup of coffee is important when you are having breakfast. The first thing we noticed is the mugs are incredibly small. Ok, next time we could bring our own mugs. Easy enough to fix. But, the coffee is lukewarm. Perhaps because it is served in a carafe, not in a coffee pot. We all know that a carafe does not keep coffee warm. Perhaps this wouldn't have been an issue if they would have been busy, but they were not. And the final strike against the coffee is they use Coffeemate. Not cream. Not half-and-half. Coffeemate. These are the reasons why we won't return for breakfast. The food was great, but the coffee was a deal breaker. We will give them a try for lunch though, and order a soda or iced tea. I would love to love this place, and want to give them another try. Just not...
