I was once a loyal customer of Home Depot for most things, now I am not. On June 29, 2023, my father and I were picking up small items to start getting his project stuff ready. We had a plan, and Home Depot’s representatives agreed. This was at the lacey location address 1450 Marvin Rd NE, Lacey, WA 98516. He was being helped from one person and they were almost to my truck, when another representative (Whose break was being interrupted was needlessly because no one asked for her) showed up with an experienced fork lift driver. She and this driver kept talking over my father and I who kept saying, that we were allowed to make multiple trips, (2) one with a trailer for the 2400 pounds of concrete. IT was to the point where my father had to act like the spoiled associates. The manager attempted to talk down to me as the owner of the truck, and again my father had to shut her down before I could. This day I was calm, as my father was doing most of the yelling on my behalf and being much nicer to them. The next day June 30, Friday, I had a phone call with their insurance company and where the only info I was told they would be emailing so that I could send pictures and other finding if any. I said thank you I looked forwarded to be the email. The email has yet to come. The finding is because the weight of the concrete, my front brakes and alignment were pretty much destroyed. The cost is well above a normal break job. I waited until the weekend was over to take the information that was well above a break job to Home Depot so that they could have a copy, and add it to the file. (again since I have no way to get ahold of the insurance company) this is when she, informed me that she could not do that, Again condescending and this is when I finally gave her my attitude (since my father was not around) and I informed her that not 1 of those people including her has yet to be sincere and apologize to me, and show me they were a good employee, where she finally was corruptive enough to give me a number. She also finally apologized with the added attitude of “Please remember we are only human and mistakes happen”. To which I responded with a word from her generation “True but you broke it you should fix it and there were always consequences.” I called the number and they said they would call me back I called the number and the agent on my case has yet to call me back. Home Depot is living proof that we as society do not want to take responsibility for our actions. The Girl (because she acted like a child) who inserted herself and an unexperienced fork lift driver should be forced to go train in respect and any other training. The manager who did not want to deal with my situation should also lose her position be transferred to a low stocker for not being willing to go the extra mile. Especially when both my father and I said the exact truth, and the manager had the employee tell her side of the story while I was listing facts. My only prayer is that the insurance company makes it right, and that the Home Depot learns that appeasing employees who do what ever is eventually will lose business. To those who lives around this Home Depot, save yourself the heart ache, for tools go to ACE or Harbor Freight. If you need anything else, go to Lowe’s. This way even if you will be treated with respect and dignity, and if accidents or lack of communication happen in their ranks, they will at least respect you. This is my plan moving forward, as it seems that Home Depot really does not want business. I was waiting to write this until insurance (Their) did their thing, and contacted me again, which...
Read moreAlways love a trip to The Home Depot!
Lots and lots of everything for home projects.
Painting, lighting, electrical, plumbing, gardening, tools, shelving, lumber, roofing, drywall, etc.
Was there the other day to pick up some T-50 staples for my electric stapler. Was pretty sure I knew where they would be located but did not know the exact location.
I pulled out my smartphone, clicked on their app and typed in staples. BAM! Up came the exact location and it was actually correct!
Was in and out in no time.
I have had them cut down lumber for me there, including long planks and plywood. It really is a time-saver for me and makes it much easier to get them back home and handle them.
Although I am not a Vet, I do love that they have close-in stalls for Vets. It is a small thing that is really a big thing.
My favorite thing when shopping there is the gentleman who is always wearing a stylish fedora that matches the color of his shirt perfectly.
Not only is he impressively dressed, he is also extremely helpful and knows his stuff.
I still have some upcoming projects so I know I will be making some more trips there.
Update: 11/20/22 Stopped by the store to pick up a replacement piece for our freezeless hose spigot (forgot to disconnect hoses during the cold snap). They had a great deal on small poinsettias. We bought three. They are the perfect height for our kitchen island and look great - very healthy plants.
The store is absolutely ready for the holidays. It is amazing to see all of the stuff they have out, easily accessible, and very well stocked.
Just about whatever you want to do to show how much more in the holiday spirit you are than your lazy neighbors - The Home Depot has it...a lot of it...at great prices.
Now, I am the type who sees all this amazing stuff and just says, "Heck yeah! Bring it on!" and just starts loading up my cart with everything in sight, despite having no plan for what I am going to do with it all or how I will ever find the time to actually make it happen.
I know I am like this so it is good my wife is there to ask questions like, "Why are you getting that? Didn't you buy that exact same thing the last three years and have yet to do anything with them? Where are you planning on putting them? Where are you planning to store them? Just how much time will it take to set it up?"
As I stand there in disbelief that once again logic and logistics rear their ugly heads.
I move on. This honestly goes on throughout the store.
I finally get to the plumbing aisle but cannot find what I need. Luckily one of their team members is there, knows exactly what I need and takes me over to the exact spot...which I swear was not there only moments before when I searched those very shelves!
Super helpful despite the obvious use of black magic trickery.
Checking out. This is one place the Lacey Home Depot needs to figure out. The checkout stands just don't have enough room for even a small one to form without completely blocking the aisles. It is also really confusing on where the lines start.
The self-checkout is always busy and for some reason, it seems well over half the people going through there have issues. The poor team member there is constantly going from one person checking out to another, only having to return to the first person to help them again.
Set up your app, which is actually really useful, so we can scan in our...
Read moreDoesn't have bulk sand nor gravel, no bulk brick, nor concrete block, limited sizes of rebar, limited selection of pavers, no slump-stone, no slate, and I've better things to do than provide Google with info that they spent no time collecting, nor provided any stipend for the time I'm investing not to mention a list of other ways they're capitalizing on my use of their app while that use has failed to do me a GODDAMN BIT OF GOOD.
I don't want your points, nor your rewards; all I want is for your app to provide the information I seek which is the reason I bothered to open the damn thing in the first place!
I guess I should've known all along I was just wasting time spin'n my wheels. My review of Home Depot is not intended to reflect poorly on Home Depot; on the contrary. Home Depot does quite a good job providing an extensive array of do-it-yourself home repair and improvement materials and fixtures, as well as some appliances.
No, this isn,t even about Home Depot. It's about Goodle's search results. Results that were specifically instructed to OMIT Home Depot. (I was already sitting in the parking lot at Home Depot when I opened the maps app. Why would I need a map or directions to find the only search result Google returned?)
My attempt at a logical means of eliminating Home Depot from the "list" of results (since a verbatum search included "NOT Home Depot") was the inadvertent inspiration brought about by the suggestion from Google to rate my experience. Think'n that a list of materials one could only find at a proffesional contractor's building materials supply would do the trick, it seemed the elimination was a logical conclusion.
It was not. Even after the review was posted, Google insisted on putting Home Depot 1st up which was so irritating, (I had already been pushed at Best [Worst] Buy not 30 minutes before when, trying to return a $180.00 Samsung phone I bought 3 days before, still in the box w/reciept attached, after driving 20 miles to get there, and at no other time nor in any other way, being told there would be a $35.00 restocking fee) so DAMN IRRITATING, I didn't bother to close the app nor turn off the screen.
I just gave the phone a toss at the opposite corner of the floor, started the van, and began heading to some other electronics sales B&M store.(I already knew where...
