04/28/23: Came @ 11:30am and the food was sooooo good!
02/14/23: 4 stars today (will update the stars next visit if it’s as good)
My boyfriend & I decided to come for valentine day dinner with hope the food would be fresh due to couples coming in for dinner tonight… I will say they did redeem themselves. The food was hot & fresh… absolutely delicious! According to my boyfriend the shrimp was “The best he’d ever had visiting there.” Also, there was absolutely no fishy taste to the shrimp this visit. The sweet & sour chicken was actually crispy & enjoyable! It was great to see staff changing the food as needed & disinfecting the serving area this time. We will be coming back to see the upkeep when the building is not so packed.

2 stars! I don’t know what happened. My mom brought us here as kids for special occasions, birthdays, family outings, etc. The last time I came here was 2015 with my mom & siblings. I am now 24 years old… I brought my own family: my boyfriend & brother-in-law. We were kindly greeted, never left waiting to be seated A+ on that part. The problem was the food had definitely changed. The color, appearance, smell, one of the pasta salads aromas smelled so bad I had to cover it with a napkin to disguise the Smell, unfortunately. My boyfriend had some shrimp and he said that it smelled really fishy. My brother-in-law was concerned about the chicken & actually asked me if it was thoroughly cooked. He said it looked purple. I told him not to eat it if he was concerned about it. The sweet-and-sour chicken was squishy, The Teriyaki chicken that was once was bright red like bbq pork... It's now brown in color. We went home and had done unjust things to our toilet after this dinner outing. Oh, another thing I'd like to note is there was a lady on the phone with her doctor in the stall. She was using the toilet at the same time. I could hear her changing her pad, she finished her business, flushed the toilet & bolted out of the bathroom before even washing her hands, and going back out to the dining room before I could even see who she was. I'd recommend getting a bathroom tenant for the...
Read moreThis is my favorite restaurant.
Since a young kid, I've always felt welcomed here with my family. I used to joke and call it Chicken-on-a-stick (hands down, my favorite dish there... my absolute favorite... nobody does it better. probably not even their best one considering all of the unique food prepared). It is a great family environment, offering a great selection for anyone, and caters to just about anyone's needs.
Some specialties aren't always there, but they have incredible consistency. The smells are amazing and have a lot to offer. Spicy, savory, sweet. Teriyaki, rice, chicken. Pork, beef... and some incredible seafood incomparable to many other spaces in the area.
I can't label any teriyaki or Chinese buffet style restaurant as my favorite; But, I make an exception for this restaurant. It is an incredible baseline for so many others in the the pacific northwest who each share their unique blends of spices and creative dishes. Its here i learned to like crab. Its here I explored different dishes. Its here I finally decided I love sushi.
I don't know how they do it. 11 out of 10, I hope to see this place flourish for generations. There's plenty of spaces for people to sit, places to park; Large groups, small groups. It's even a walk from the lacey library; and if you eat more than you anticipated... you could even go to the movies. Being right off I-5, you could even catch a bus and get there from Tacoma.
It's one of the greatest spots in Thurston County and I will always cherish my memories here. I hope to see it continue with the great staff and people who make this place a safe space.

Did I say 11 out of 10, I should say 11 out of 5.... Ratings don't do this place justice. It is my favorite restaurant. There are many others I like too, but this one is one of the best.
It's also one of few places you can get good fresh steamed buns and heart...
Read moreIt was packed the day after Valentine's day, they didn't have any crab legs, no strawberries, no sherbet ice cream and many of the food items were cold. I get anxious around too many people so I try to make my way through the buffet foods in 3 separate rounds, twice through for dinner items and once finished I go back to get desert, which I enjoy scooping my own ice cream but I would enjoy it much more if there was a way to make a banana Split there. Just adding bananas would be a great plus, fruit options and toppings are extremely limited. Ice creams available are always coffee, vanilla, strawberry or rainbow sherbet. Topping option Hershey's syrup only, no whip cream, no cherry on top. However, there is a chocolate fountain and marshmallows. Would love to see a chocolate ice cream or mint added in variation to the coffee ice cream. This last visit was only my second visit and my first was vastly different. At different times of day, I assume the holiday made it a little busy. Plus the party room full of 20+ family members This was all after the busy hours. My last complaint is the bathrooms were trashed this time. Usually they aren't bad though.
My favorite things there are the grilled plantains, the all you can eat part, the ice cream scooping, sushi, and the large variety of foods you can find there.
My least favorite things are that the seating isn't very comfortable, the food is hit and miss as far as temperature, you never know who has touched things with Fingers vs. Utensils and the food is never covered to protect from bugs or people sneezing. Mkay.
So all this is mind, I paid a total of $56 for a dinner for two people and a couple sodas. On a scale of 1-10 I'm going to give this a 7.5 for recommendations. Because all in all, the variety is decent and of course the all you can eat part is wonderful.
Overall I had a good...
