The Viking Lounge — Restaurant in Lacey

At first I kind of thought this hidden treasure was another run of the mill hole in the wall without any sense of civility. So I avoided it like the plague, easy to do as I don’t consume alcohol. Then my partner persuaded me to eat a burger there. The food is Americana Standard but good quality. Everything was good. The service is top notch, especially considering the bartenders are also the servers. In this day and age, appearing as anything other than a member of the regular crowd is dangerous, either socially or otherwise. I’ve always been polite and unassuming, but I’m well aware that my partner and I could present as being members of the marginalized communities (which we are, proudly, though we have been repairing our lives…. It’s one step at a time, one day at a time), and that usually brings with it suspicion, anger, and even fear. It’s sad that a very few members of the community as a whole could do so much harm that their actions are attributed to all of the community. The staff and customers at the Viking are remarkable in the fact that after our second visit, we were accepted into the fold as what we are: Customers respectful of the establishment. The Vikings Lounge got me through a very difficult time in my life. I visited multiple times because it was nearby, and I tried my hardest to create havoc many times, and was always successful when trying. The element that makes The Vikings Lounge an exceptional establishment is their consistency. The security is always secure, the bar is always honest, the food is always good. The Vikings Lounge appeals to all age groups. Expect comfort and a relaxing environment Mondays-Wednesdays. Expect loud music and drunk Millennials/Gen X/BabyBoomers/Gen Z’s Thursday/Friday/Saturday. Expect superior service always. The Vikings Lounge has set the “bar” for the Olympia/Lacey area. People travel from other municipalities to visit The Vikings. Do yourself a favor and get your body in there. Oh, they have Karyoke as well. Don’t sit on the tables. A sincere thank you to The Vikings Lounge for being consistent, even though I am definitely not. Thank you for having integrity. Thank you for setting the standard. To all the other bars in the area… you have major competition.

I could be biased, but this bar hits all my needs! Depending on the amount of social interaction im in need of is how I choose what time to go here. Friday night has a completely different feel from Sunday night, which I love TBH. Plus, there's a Pokémon gym here.. what more could I ask for!? I havent gotten a major variety of food from here but the things i have gotten (tacos and tots usually :p) have been amazing everytime, AND my Grandparents even eat breakfast here almost everytime they drive out from Aberdeen to spend the night at our place. The drinks are priced well compared to other spots nearby, and I can't forget about karaoke every night! Pool table and dart board, and beer pong Thursday nights. This place...
