It was alright; it is just a theater. The movie I saw (Star Wars IX) was bad IMO but I'm not here for that. I had to knock off two stars for the following reasons:
-The ticket person at the front gave us different seats than we asked for. There was no way for this person to fix it, so we had to stand in the customer service line and wait for fifteen minutes to get these changed. Another customer service person would have made this take a minute at most. We almost missed the movie time, but this didn't matter because:
-There were 30 minutes of ads /after/ the movie start time. What is this about? I didn't pay money to watch ads for 30 minutes. 10 minutes would have been acceptable but really, any amount of time that I have to spend watching ads before the movie is supposed to start is money out of my pocket that I could spend doing anything else. 30 minutes is also 25% of the screen time of an average movie. Does this mean I get a 25% discount on my ticket?
-The theater is old with plush seats. This isn't helped by the several smoker clientele stinking up the room with cigarette odor. I'm not against people expressing their right to inhale tar, but being forced to smell menthols for two hours is unpleasant and makes this location far less desirable. You also can't move away from the smell to a different seat, because your seats are assigned. Anyone with asthma should...
Read moreMy family had a pretty terrible experience coming to see the new Mario movie. First they sold us the wrong movie time. We arrived at 12:58 and they sold us the more expensive 12:40 3D movie tickets and also didn't give us any 3D glasses. We told the counter employee specifically we were there to see the 1:00 showing.
Then after having purchased $110 in movie tickets and a large popcorn with drinks my kids then tried to purchase a large popcorn and drinks for their kids but their payment system is so outdated that it wouldn't read their debit card We asked the employees to try it on another payment station since we've used our card at Fred Meyer and the donut shop right before we came They refused so we asked for them to call a manager over to help solve this dilemma but the manager had NO solution to our problem They said if we can't pay for the two drinks we ordered and our large popcorn it was our problem even though they acknowledged it was their systems problem All three employees and the manger included have 0 customer service skills and more importantly the manager has 0 solutions they handled the situation atrociously
Also this place seems to be having plumbing issues with all the clogged sinks in the...
Read moreNice, clean theatre. I only have ONE complaint but its HUGE...what the heck is with the popcorn?! I dont think they even USE those popping machines and make it FRESH anymore. And that's just wrong on sooo many levels! The theatre should SMELL like fresh popped corn, that's part of the distinctive ambiance. That hot corn smell, that warm butter smell...nothing like it before a movie. There should be a certain "crunch" to fresh popcorn, a warmth, a lightness to each kernal, a very specific disinigration to this savory morsel. But not in the $9 bucket we got. Nope. Our kernels were room temperature, the feel of it in my hand was...well, off and the texture was like that of the biodegradable packing peanuts! And don't even get me started on "the butter"! And why NOT make it fresh. For the prices charges seems to me they can afford the electric bill to run the machine, right? Because going to the movies evokes a strong image and feeling for me (and, in my opinion, half of that includes the whole fresh popcorn thing) the theatre only gets half the points! (And since the rating here is 1-5 and you can't do "half" I'm going down and the grading scale and not up. I take my popcorn at the...
