The concept behind MOD Pizza is great, the food is plentiful and affordable, but their philosophy is even better. If you want to go to and build your own pizza or salad, this is the spot. With a large variety of topics always available, there isn't much to complain about. The price is relatively competitive with other fast casual places in the area, they have great brewed teas (even I like it and i'm not a big tea drinker), and even when the lines are long it normally goes fairly quickly. One word of advice, if you want to go on a Friday either get there before 5:00 PM, or call in and pick up your order.
I'm updating my review (although leaving the original so that if MOD actually looks at reviews they will see why I changed the review from 5 to 3 stars).
The last 3 or 4 times that we have visited MOD as a family the results have been disappointing. My son only eats plain cheese pizza, plain and simple. So we order a large Maddie with extra cheese. Each of the last times we ordered it has been made or cooked differently. Either they put next to no cheese on it, or add extra cheese, and then extremely over cook it. It seems as if it doesn't matter how much cheese is on any pizza of late, it comes out burnt and bubbled. One day it was so bad that nearly half the pizza was inedible.
Then there are the salads, which is all that I can eat with new dietary restrictions. The salads used to be large and full of toppings, but not anymore. The last few visits I left after eating a salad, I had to go home and eat another meal.
I will give this MOD one more chance before I stop going there completely. I love the company and what they stand for, but I cannot pay to eat a meal just to go home and then eat...
Read moreIf you havent been before it sort of works like Subway for pizzas. It may look daunting initially, but it really is much simpler than it looks.
The pizza options on the side wall are suggestions. I personally have never followed them.
First off you have to decide whether you want their regular size which they call the mod or the small size which is the mini mod. There are some salad options as well.
From then on it's one price for everything. If you like red sause twice as thick its the same price as no red sauce. If want tripple meat you get it for the same price. There are a multitude of topping options and you get as much as you want for one price.
This is my favorite pizza place. Here is my order. Mod with red sauce and garlic Mozzarella and fetta cheese Bacon Canadian bacon Chicken x 2 Onions Green peppers Red peppers Black olives x3 Artichoke hearts Sometimes tomatoes Put more mozzarella on top
It usually comes out of the oven in the time it takes my family to get drinks and find a place to sit. When they are calling my order as complete. I have them add a barbecue swirl to the top. My wife goes for the balsamic fig. It is the perfect Pizza for me. Go ahead and experiment you will find the perfect...
Read moreThe restaurant looked clean, employees were all very friendly and fast. Since you watch them making your salad and/or p pizza, you direct just how much of each topic. No real chance of getting your order wrong. That said, I've eaten here twice, once ordering pizza, salad the next time. The pizza was pretty ordinary, nothing spectacular, maybe even a little bland. The lettuce on the salad was pretty soggy long before I'd hit the half-way mark. The toppings were fresh and looked good, so I picked out most of the toppings before I gave up on it. The big issue was a screw up in running my card. I received a text routine text from my bank detailing the charge, which was $1.60 more than the number on my receipt. I spoke with the cashier who did seem genuinely surprised. He got the manager out and the two finally just decided to give me the amount overcharged. That was the right thing to do and I thanked them. I'd love to believe that it was an accident, but since that's been a somewhat common scam, to overcharge just a small amount so that it it's caught, most people aren't going to go back for such a little amount. If you're eating here, you may be happily surprised by a great lunch, but you'll want to pay with cash...
