If I could give zero stars, I would.
Let me start by saying I’ve been to plenty of Texas Roadhouse locations, and while they’re never gourmet dining, I at least expect common courtesy and edible food. But the experience at the Lady Lake, Florida Texas Roadhouse was beyond disappointing — it was outright disrespectful and unprofessional.
We ordered three steaks, fries for each plate, and one order of sautéed mushrooms. Because this location has a reputation for over-seasoning everything to the point of inedibility, we made a very clear and polite request: light seasoning on the mushrooms. And what did we get? Mushrooms so aggressively salted and seasoned they were practically toxic. One bite and you’d swear someone in the kitchen had a personal vendetta against our taste buds.
To the server’s credit, the mushrooms were removed from the bill — but unfortunately, things only got worse from there.
When we started eating our food, we realized the fries were just as over-seasoned — so loaded with salt they were physically painful to eat. Tongue-burning levels of sodium. I’m not exaggerating. They were completely inedible. But we never had a chance to flag it in real time because our server disappeared and didn’t return until we were nearly finished.
At that point, we calmly explained the issue with the fries, expecting some basic understanding — maybe an apology, or the sides taken off the bill, since we couldn’t eat them.
But then entered the manager — and this is where the experience went from bad to absolutely outrageous.
Not only was he dismissive and rude, he was also condescending and combative — especially to my mother, who had simply asked for the inedible sides to be removed from the bill. He scoffed, told us he could “replace the fries after the meal was already over,” or offer us a free appetizer. We don’t eat appetizers. We didn’t order appetizers. So what kind of half-baked solution is that?
When we told him that was not acceptable, he doubled down on the disrespect. He began speaking to my mother in a tone that was disgustingly arrogant and borderline hostile. That’s when I said we were done. I told my family to pay the bill and leave, because I refuse to spend one more dollar in a place that treats customers — especially women — like that.
Let me be clear: I have never in my life been treated with such blatant disrespect in a restaurant, and I have never watched a manager act so unprofessionally. The food was borderline inedible, the service was negligent, and the management was flat-out insulting.
This location doesn’t deserve the Texas Roadhouse name. And after this experience, we will never set foot in this restaurant again. I’ll also be telling everyone I know to avoid this place like the plague — because no one should ever have to pay to be mistreated and served garbage on a plate.
Do better, Lady Lake. Until then, you’ve lost our business —...
Read moreWhat a bad experience I had tonight at Texas roadhouse in Lady Lake Florida. Me and my wife decided to go in there for anniversary. We walked through the door and we didn’t even get greeted by the hostess. We asked them if we could set up by the bar area and the hostess replied back to us that it’s first come first serve at the bar area so my wife continue to walk up and pick one of the booths right by the bar. I was a little confused because I always thought it was a wait to be seated when I double checked with the hostess, she said yes, go ahead and go up there. As we sat down and started looking at the menu about a 5 minutes later, the hostess came up to us and said that it was a 20 minute wait to sit at a booth by the bar. Let me remind you that this was a Monday night at 8 o’clock and there was at least 30 tables throughout the whole restaurant that were open if not more. I would say they we’re about 10 to 15% at capacity of the whole restaurant. I asked the hostess if I could please talk to him manager and's then she got to resistant and then I repeated myself can you please get the manager. About five minutes later, the manager came out as she was walking out of the back she ripped her earpiece out of her ear and came up to us like she wanted to fight us. After I explained to her that the hostess told us originally that we should go sit at the bar area and then came up to us a few minutes after we sat down and said it was gonna be a 20 minute wait. The manager acted like we were bothering her, and she was already irritated with us before she even her our side of the story. After I told her that this was ridiculous because the whole restaurant was open with tables. Why was it going to be a big deal for us to sit at this one table Where all the customers were? So when she was not showing any hospitality towards us for being a customer I told her I was going to give her a great review and then she turned around and told me I was being rude to her hostess and make sure I put that in my comments. I guess if one of their employees does something wrong and you ask them to talk to their manager You’re being rude??? I hope whoever is in charge of this roadhouse realizes that this manager was very rude and unprofessional to their customer and I’m pretty sure this ain’t the first time that she’s done this to somebody. If I had to put a valuation on this lady, it does not seem like she’s too happy with her job, and she has no business being in the hospitality industry. When she came up to me and my wife, she didn’t even introduce herself, so I do not know what her name is, but I know she was a redhead. So with that being said, instead of ruining our night, and getting into a big argument Decided to get up and go over to Longhorns with my wife where we spent $200 on food and drinks and had an...
Read moreAwful experience. I come in to Texas with my sister and her boyfriend at around 6 pm and leave at around 6:45. Service wasn’t great and food was only alright for starters, but when we left my sister noticed that she lost her wallet. We start retracing our steps calling places to see where we had left them; We called Texas first and they straight up tell us that there is nothing there, but that they would look for it and let us know. We are sure we left it at Texas so we call and again and ask for the manager. Brian the manager answers and he’s nice at first, he asks us where we sat and once we tell him, he says he goes to look, and he says that he’ll make sure to check where we sat end of the night. I get the idea right after to ask if he can check the cameras. I call around 5 times redialing even though I called right after having hung up, so it definitely feels like they ignored my call at first rings then finally decided to answer. Once again Brian answers and when I ask him if he can check the cameras he rudely says “I dont even know where you sat” despite the fact that I had JUST told this incompetent man where I had sat while dining. He then says he turned right around and says that he magically found the lost wallet. Seemed extremely convenient and weird whenever I had called so many times and then had been told to screw off essentially. Once I get there and I pick it up I ask Brian about why the situation had taken so long to resolve, when they could have simply given it priority, like looking at/under the table whenever the guests using it had gotten up from it. Brian becomes extremely rude and just kept saying “well I found your wallet” and basically only repeats that to me attempting to express my frustrations with the situation that really shouldn’t have been as complicated as it had been. When I left I did use expletives to voice my frustrations, Brian then says”you’re welcome” when I walk out. Still completely missing the whole point. While using foul language was immature of me, it also was a situation that Brian horribly handled and he should definitely be trained on handling customer satisfaction better. Very disappointed and upset with this situation. It definitely feels as since we are of a younger generation the situation was treated with much less care and attention as if we had been an older generation and apart of the villages community. I firmly believe that Brian did not encourage his team nor himself to actively search for the lost wallet and made our concerns feel like an afterthought. Even though we have been calling this store since 7pm to find this wallet, and finally once we leave the area and us calling, Brian tells us he finds the wallet. Brian should seriously finding a new line of work, because customer service is certainly...
