Gundruk- Taste of Nepal and India — Restaurant in Lafayette

I went to this place due to a recommendation by an acquantaince and happened to be in the area.

I got there about 30min prior to closing before dinner.

The service was pretty quick and friendly. The place was clean and food tasted fresh.

I ordered. Chicken Tikka masala mild and just wish or would order spicy next time but it's difficult to gauge as was my first time at this place. I ordered samosas and some garlic Naan.

The garlic Naan while different is some of the best if not the best Naan I've had ever. The samosas were delicious and crisped just wish the flavor would have been more potato based while I like flavors just perhaps the multitude of flavors were bit for me that day. They were delicious but maybe softer texture filling would have made them perfect.

I will definitely return and try other of their dishes specially lamb and perhaps some desserts.

My wife and mother-in-law and I wanted South Asian food but wanted to try someplace we hadn't been to before. We came across Gundruk Taste of Nepal and India and were intrigued by the menu. We LOVED our meal, including Coconut Chicken Curry and Chicken Vindaloo, Saag Paneer and truly amazing Garlic Naan. It's a spacious but cozy restaurant in a quiet strip mall, family-owned and we had a wonderful conversation with Kamala, one of the owners. We learned that some of the most interesting items on the menu like Chicken Chow Mein and Chicken Momo dumplings are Nepali specialties, where the family comes from. I'm a bit newer to Gundruk and am so grateful for my recent visits for their restaurant! I first had lunch there on a Saturday with friends and was very impressed with the food and kind, thoughtful service.

Then, recently I chose Gundruk for my milestone birthday dinner for a group of nine of us, and it was perfect---so very lovely. We used their private area to the right of the entrance door, and our food and service were so appreciated; they were also very attentive with my reservation and questions. My guests and I really enjoyed our time there, we enjoyed our delicious food, and we truly appreciate your hospitality. Thank you, Gundruk cooks and servers!
