This was our first time coming here since the new management. While it was still just as delicious and they have way more options on the menu. BUT, it wasn't even half the food that Kapow served, the portion was tiny. I have never from any Thai, Chinese etc. finished the box of rice and my entree. I always have leftovers. This was not the case here, both me and my wife finished it all and we're still hungry. Also got the crab cheese wontons, finished those as well. I will say, it was delicious, the wontons were great, the sauce they served was amazing and certainly homemade. I had the Orange Sesame Chicken. It was really good however with a name like that I would have expected to be fried, it was grilled. Which grilled chicken isn't exactly my thing, albeit it being healthier. My wife got the Panang Curry with beef it was also delicious. But, again for 50$ I want leftovers Any other Oriental place you go in town here for 50$, you get a large portion. If we hadn't been to Kapow previously, maybe I would feel...
Read moreFinally, a solid Thai restaurant in Lafayette! My favorite local Thai restaurants are Busaba and Aloy Thai so I'm comparing my experience to those places, both of which are very high quality in my opinion. I've had take out twice for lunch now and am overall pleased. Spice levels are Colorado mild, I got Medium on dishes and could taste a little bit of the spice but it wasn't too overwhelming, may be a Mild level in other places like Busaba. The pad thai with tofu was great, lots of sauce and good flavor. The tom kha (medium spice) was a little bland, mostly felt like heavy coconut milk without heat and not a ton of flavor in it (but great coconut if you like coconut!). The sticky rice was an odd texture compared to what I'm used to, too sticky/mushy? I had another noodle dish before and the sauce/flavor was also good, lots of veggies which was nice. Good prices for lunch and fast service for take out. Overall a great place I will return to since it's so close...
Read moreWe have been here before but believe the name and ownership az well as the menu has changed since the last time. Came on a Weds eve and were the only customers here. Ordered the Pad Kapow with brown rice , a very flavorful dish with ground chicken (would have preferred to know that), green beans, bamboo shoots and basil. Got medium which was tasty but not spicy at all. Brown rice is additional cost which would have been nice to know as it's printed for other menu items. My friend got some springerolls and their chicken massaman curry. Nice portions for both. Service was quick and efficient and the owner? was very nice. Like all places prices have gone up so it was over $20 including tip for my one dish. No drinks. I do wish their menu was a little larger to include noodle/rice bowl options but other than that it was a pleasant dinner...
