I wanted to spend a nice Dad-Daughter time having brunch within the vicinity of Boulder and Broomfield on 25 Aug 2024, before my daughter started day 1 of her classes at CU Boulder the following day, and before I headed back home. I found Morning Glory Café after a quick Google search and opted to try it out based on the amount of positive reviews. As with majority of restaurants that specialize in a breakfast/brunch theme especially on a Sunday, this one was no different...to the effect that it was crowded and had a wait list established. As a Las Vegas resident, I'm no stranger to long lines and waiting lists, but the difference at this restaurant was that the wait time went pretty fast...so kudos to the restaurant staff and their process(es) for that.
When we got seated, I couldn't help but notice the nice décor and the wonderful views that customers "could" have when sitting indoors at a table next to a window. The views are great but I couldn't look at it often since there were people at one point sitting right outside, next to the window (adjacent to us). I mean I could've looked outside, but let's be real, how often have you experienced someone looking at you, only to realize that they're looking at someone(thing) else in your general direction - that feeling can be uncomfortable to some. Needless to say, it was irrelevant since majority of the time was utilized spending quality time with my daughter.
Visiting Colorado, I anticipate being exposed to a lot of restaurants accommodating others with special diets/medical needs, so having a carnivorous background like my entire family and I, it can be a struggle at times in this state. However, I am also adventurous and enjoy trying new things so I ended up ordering the Sunday Brunch Special (Blackened Shrimp Omelet w/Rye Toast), and my daughter ordered the Breakfast Burrito. I was shocked to see that the burrito didn't come with bacon or sausage (I think that was a first time for us) - needless to say, I'm pretty sure the restaurant could've added some if I requested/paid for it. The one major thing that took me for a surprise (and we were disappointed) were the pancakes at this restaurant. I should've done my due diligence and researched this prior to visiting, but I didn't know their pancakes were made with nuts (my daughter is allergic to that). I appreciated the business for specifying this right on top of their menu, but unfortunately for us, we were looking forward to some regular flap jacks. I asked if there were a separate batter made without nuts, but to our surprise and disappointment, there weren't any. Oh well, we didn't lose sleep over it, and the entrées we ordered were still good.
The service here is top-notch...from the time we walked in, all the way to when we departed. Our main server, Tara, did such a remarkable job that afternoon; she explained everything in great detail which was appreciated and answered a couple of our questions without hesitation. Throughout our visit, she was attentive, professional, friendly, and courteous. The prices were reasonable and I highly respect this business for their support to the men and women of the Armed Forces, including its Veterans - thank you for that! As far as the ambiance/atmosphere goes (and aside from my comments above on the views), the noise level can be a little loud in the restaurant making it difficult to hear the server and the people at your table. Not a show stopper but was annoying at times. And finally, of noteworthy significance, I really enjoyed how this business provides scissors on each table to easily cut the jam packaging. And although there's a perforated line on the package itself, this makes it easier and less messy for customers. Little details like that go a long way and makes the entire experience monumental.
Overall, I recommend this restaurant to everyone...especially if you have certain diet...
Read moreSeptember 2024: #morningglory is absolutely the top restaurant in Colorado! Every employee is absolutely wonderful! Super fresh ingredients in everything on the menu! Everything is healthy, clean eating, and super satisfying, and a low price $10-15). I can always feel good about what I eat here, even the most decadent stuff is âgood for youâ clean ingredients and tastes outstanding and not boring. You must try the soup because all of them are unique daily and fresh creations and so tasty. Mateo Remembers your name and is super fast excellent service with a smile! Thank you!

Read moreWe decided to give Morning Glory Cafe a shot today. We arrived around 10:45am on a Sunday and there was already a 20 minute wait so our expectations were high.
The atmosphere was great with artwork from local artists displayed all over the walls and hanging from the ceiling, and huge windows out the back overlooking a nice patio and park.
The service was all you can ask for, especially when it's crazy busy like it was: quick, friendly, and attentive.
I got the Big Ranch Breakfast - the best part being the andouli sausage & the crisp potatoes instead of those sad home fries some breakfast joints have (you know the ones I'm talking about).
My wife got the Salmon Omelette special which was...not really an omelette. You'll see in the pictures that the egg is just drapped on top of the salmon (which was unfortunately dry); omelettes with filling are meanthave th egg surround the filling, not cover it like an blanket. The cream cheese was just a dollop in the center of it instead of spread throughout, and it was laying on a bed of raw spinach.
Now with that being said, the star of the show and what I suspect most people's go-to was the Gluten Free (GF) Pancake. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm no connoisseur when it comes to gluten free products, but I've had a few and they always taste a little...off, especially when compared to their gluten included counterparts. That certainly wasn't the case here! I highly recommend the gluten free pancakes, and would go back...
