If I could give less than 1 star, I would! I placed a sizable order on line. Let me start by saying that I am a regular customer of this particular Jimmy Johns. At least weekly. Anyways, out of courtesy.... I noted in comments that I would be paying with a $100 bill. My order total came to well over $60 after tip. The Manager called me "AFTER" he made my order, sent the driver out (poor young sweet girl caught in the middle of this despicable Manager and I) with my food knowing that all I had was a $100 bill. He stated in his phone message that he could not give change for $100. Keep in mind that my order was over $60. The poor driver arrived to the door and left our food in the car. I went to pay and she told me that she could not accept my $100 bill and that the Manager had JUST called (after he sent the driver out with my food). I explained that I had $28 or the $100 bill. Well.... the sweet delivery girl then explained to me that the Manager even saw on my on line order that I had put that I had a $100 bill and before he sent her out with my food..... he MADE HER GIVE HIM ALL OF HER CASH SO SHE COULD NOT EVEN GIVE ME CHANGE PERIOD!!!!!! Ok, I see several issues here..... one, I had the courtesy to let them know AHEAD of time that I had a $100 bill. Two, this DESPICABLE MANAGER sent his poor young sweet female driver out with my food ANYWAYS after TAKING ALL OF HER CHANGE FROM HER. Three, this Manager is putting this poor driver in the middle of a dispute.... horrible management skills. Four, he lied multiple times to me regarding the series of events and was RUDE and didn't seem to care at all that we are regulars. Five, I work for a large Property Management Company that has well over a thousand apartment homes..... we advertise for this store for FREE to all of our current Residents, Future Residents etc....... Six, I sent the driver down to get the store phone number (because I was on hold for almost 10 minutes) so I could call to get this Managers Boss' phone number. Seven, I dumped out my purse and found a visa gift card that still had enough to pay for the order so I went looking for the poor driver that was completely embarrassed by her Manager. Eight, GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!?????? SHE LEFT WITH OUR FOOD OUT OF COMPLETE EMBARRASSMENT!!!!!! I told the Manager this and he said that she shouldn't have left and he would let me go to call her to come back ASAP. I then said..... "you know, after all of this wonderful Customer Service..... I will no longer be ordering from your store, be your regular customer and I am pulling all of the current free advertising that we do now for you because of this complete disaster! Also, thank you for taking my food back to the store.... where by law, it will be disposed of (terrible because there are many hungry in the Lafayette area) and that I will now be taking my business to Subway and letting them have all of the FREE advertising from this point on." How ridiculous!!!!!! It wouldn't have irritated me so much if this Manager wasn't such a jack ass to not only ME..... but to his employee that he put in the middle of this horrible mess by taking her change away before she left the store. Sad because I'm sure the whole drive here, she was feeling bad because she knows what a complete jack ass her Manager is for doing that to ME and to HER on purpose. It's so sad that people actually LIVE to make others miserable on purpose. Karma exists people. What goes around....... now because of my pride, I'm starving and waiting on Monicals (where, by the way, I spent a tremendous amount of MORE MONEY)!!!!!!! Jimmy Johns on Creasy..... you need a new Manager that has some Customer Service and Managerial skills. You are considerably LACKING!!!!!! Also, to the poor sweet delivery girl..... I'm very sorry!!!! Come into the office tomorrow (you know where I work), I'll talk to the Manager and see if we can give you a job with a Manager that treats her employees with the...
Read moreThis used to be a pretty good delivery lunch option (especially pre covid). My office is roughly a mile from the store, and if you wanted a quick delivery lunch, JJ's was the way to go. Fast, decent food for when I didn't have time to leave the office.
Post covid, service slowed down a lot but if you ordered before 2 and were prepared to wait a bit longer it was still a decent option, especially because the order tracker let you know approximately when it was on it's way. So less appealing but still a decent delivery option.
Fast forward to July of 2023. I place my order and wait. And wait. Check the order tracker and it reports my food as delivered. Check around the office and no one has seen JJ's. Call the store and the guy tells me (and I'm not making this up) that he's sorry but the driver has clocked out for the day. wtf.jpg He promises to send someone else out to actually deliver my order. Ok, fine, it happens I guess. My food arrives, driver takes off, aaaaaand... the chips that I paid for along with the sandwich aren't there. F it.
So no JJ's for a while. Today (November 6, 2023) I give it another go, sandwich + the new potato salad. The website has been redone and the order tracker looks worse than it did before, but whatever. Order 1:02, eta 1:32. So much for "freaky fast" but whatever. 1:32 arrives, still "out for delivery". Ok, the ETA isn't going to be 100% accurate. 1:42 arrives, food is marked as delivered. Check around the office, no one has seen the JJ's driver. herewegoagain.jpg Call the store and I am told that they "don't have the software" to update the order tracker. "Just wait a while longer," When did this happen? The old order tracker was 100% accurate. Why replace a system that works with one that doesn't? So the "order tracker" is in fact a lie, and updates itself based on... a timer? wtf. About 1:55 the driver does in fact arrive. Glad I didn't order one of the new hot subs!
Jimmy John's, get your sht together. Food delivery services like door dash literally show you on a map where the driver is, yet your system doesn't even know whether the driver has even stopped by my office yet. I have a Penn Station a couple blocks away. If I can't trust your delivery service and I want to go somewhere close, I'm going there. If I want a great quality sub I'll go to Jersey Mike's. It's a bit farther to drive, but it's much better and still cheaper. The ONLY selling point for Jimmy John's used to be the fast and convenient delivery but they've totally screwed that up. It is now neither fast nor convenient, and while the food isn't bad it is far from the best. *IF JJ's can fix their deliveries I will probably be a regular customer again. Until then, there is a 0% chance I will be shopping there any time soon because if I have to drive, I have much closer and better...
Read moreNot so "Freaky Fast" at Jimmy John's Lafayette, IN location at 2810 S Creasy Ln. Posted closing time online for Friday, July 1st was 10PM, we found the doors locked upon arrival at 8:50 PM. A couple of employees behind the front counter glanced up from their phones long enough to laugh at us and shake their heads. No attempt to inform us of the dining area closure or wave us over to the drive through. Standing outside the door, I am thinking that if Jimmy John's is so "Freaky Fast" why couldn't they serve us at 8:50 and still close by posted 10PM time on a Friday. Deciding to try the drive through, we saw four more employees grouped together in the back section of the store, all on cell phones. At the order kiosk we waited awhile for someone to finally ask what we needed. Asking if we could order takeout at 8:50 PM we waited again for a lukewarm reply "Yes, what is your order." At this point we were no longer interested in patronizing Jimmy John's. If the restaurant cannot be trusted to maintain posted times, can employees be trusted to adhere to sanitary food preparation practices? My husband and I have enjoyed Jimmy John's since one opened in Indianapolis more than 20 years ago. This experience has us concerned about trusting any Jimmy John's in the future. From what we could tell, the only "Freaky Fast" thing about this Jimmy John's was how "Freaky Fast" the Friday night crew chose to to...
