This is the first buffet in Lafayette where I though "dang, they know how to season the food." It doesn't taste like a generic Chinese buffet, it seems like they put some Cajun seasoning on some stuff. Here is what sold me on it and confirmed my original thoughts that they are doing things different. After eating there several times this past year I went in a few days ago and saw they had crawfish. Now my immediate thought was "oh don't get your hopes up it's just going to be boiled crawfish boiled in unseasoned water" we have all been in that situation. Well I filled my plate with my favorite Chinese food and shrimp, then I put three crawfish on my plate because I just knew they were going to be bland tasteless crawfish. Boy, was I wrong. They actually put some real crawfish seasoning in their boil and I was shocked. Was it the best crawfish ever, not by a long shot. Was it the best Chinese boiled crawfish I ever had, absolutely. I think they have the best tasting buffet in town. It stands out from all the others and it seems like they know what they are doing with the food. That's why I like...
Read moreThe large selection is about the only plus they had going for them. The food had a package of bland added to it and every other bite of meat I had I was rewarded with a gristle . The other customers left their manners outside as I saw a person shake some Mongolian BBQ seasoning into their had and then lick it .Then he picked up tongs with the hand he just finished licking. Then someone's under 10 unattended child didn't like the food they tasted at the buffet and threw it back in the tray. Watch your kids! I don't choose to be sickened by other's disgusting habits. The silverware I was given already had food for me on it .Yum . The boiled shrimp tasted like they were left on the boat in the sun too long then boiled in the water that came out of the cooler . Then to top it off, I had something crunchy that had the body of egg shells in the ice cream . Gross. I really am confused by all the good reviews as this is a pretty common experience I've had here . Thankfully, finally, the ones I was with that wanted to go there finally had enough of the place so they won't guilt me into...
Read moreWas going to eat here but then we learned that Apple pay / Google pay / tap pay is not accepted here. So this restaurant clearly wants to collect credit card numbers in there probably chintzy database and most likely get hacked one day because criminals look for that kind of stuff and I'm just not interested in having my credit card on file with an IT "department" that I don't know or trust, and probably doesn't exist as a department anyway.
Get with the program King buffet, tap to pay is the safest way to pay in 2025. Even food trucks and people selling tamales and flowers on the street corner take tap to pay these days.
I doubt any one of your customers wants to be part of your next data breach.
So long as you are requiring customers to make their sensitive data vulnerable on your computer systems I will never ever ever ever ever eat here.
And your staff seems pretty annoyed with this topic also because the lady on the phone got really rude really quickly shame on you for that, lady. It's not my fault you have to have that conversation with 200...
