Well, well, well... here we are. I expected better of this place after my friend raved about it - he told me the loaded fries are to die for, so I can not attest to that. Since most of the menu is loaded with fried, greasy food, I decided to get nachos as those are fairly harmless against some of the other options available. It is not their fault that I have a fragile stomach, but it is their fault for what I was served, which was a travesty, honestly. I attempted to order the SIDE of nachos with "Cajun queso" thinking I would be able to get a smaller and cheaper item than having to order it as a build your own. Nope. I was rung up for $6.00 "Nachos" and $3.00 "Cajun Queso". Separate. You know, I'm someone who gives the benefit of the doubt, so I thought, okay, maybe the "Nachos" will come with cheese, and I just got an extra side for some reason. And I turned out to be wrong. 6 USD for like 30 greasy fried chips? The one thing I was attempting to avoid? No salt on them or anything either. My mind is blown honestly. I do wish their menu had pictures of the food on them because I would not have ordered that. Anyway, the chips weren't even the worst part. The cheese was disgusting. It didn't even taste like cheese if you could believe it. Slight aftertaste of spice but nothing Cajun about it. And also, it was cold. Another thing, it took about 10-15 minutes for chips and cheese. I'm sorry, but I don't live in Lafayette and was hoping to try some really good food, but it just wasn't here. Wish we would have gone somewhere else, unfortunately. They do have Mr. Pibb, though, so I call that a win. I guess if you're good with your food taking forever and paying exorbitant prices for hit-or-miss food, this is your place. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know in real life, so approach at...
Read moreWe went tonight for the first time and the girls at the front seemed really nice in helping us pick what to order. We’re new in town and heard good things about this place.
I gave my name for the to go order and when they called out my name when the order was ready, they said it kind of weird, which I didn’t think anything of at the time. When we got home and took the to go boxes out of the bag, I saw the bottom box had “Asia” written and crossed out on it, and my name written above that.
Being Asian, I found this to be incredibly racist. I’ve been telling everyone how nice and friendly people in Lafayette are and honestly, this was a huge disappointment and needless to say, I will not be returning to a place that is employing racists because I have felt unwelcome for the first time since being in this city, no matter how good or bad their food is. This has put a sour taste in my mouth.
On top of this, I tipped them for being so “friendly” at first and I work in the food industry so I understand tips are appreciated. I wish I could take it back now.
In the picture, you can see my name was taken for the order. So they purposely wrote my name incorrectly on the box and STILL gave it to me. Racism with a smile....
Read moreAfter moving to Lafayette, I've had the opportunity to try food better than I've ever had- here, unfortunately, is kind of the exception. The gimmick and atmosphere are nice enough, staff is friendly. I was going to order something with crawfish, but I was told they were out of season, which is fine! Not their fault, my only issue is it was still on the menu with no warnings. Caused me to panic and end up ordering shrimp with cheese in a quesadilla. Which ended up looking like the picture I've attached- and that piece is one of the better looking ones. I had a sad smear of cheese with shrimp to rival the size of an instant ramen cup. It tastes okay. I'd be more fine if this didn't cost me TEN DOLLARS. I feel vaguely scammed. Lafayette has way better places to go to, I'd prefer a low quality fast food chain to this, honestly. Best if you're high out of your mind...
