We were in on a Saturday afternoon, after 2pm. 2/22 We ordered our food, paid $43 for our family's meal. We gave the cashier our name, and we're to to be patient because they were busy and there were only 2 workers. 45 minutes later, went up to the counter to ask how much longer it was going to be for our order. We had seen others that arrived after us getting their food. Eventually we were one of only a few people left in the dining room. They had the wrong name for the order (I'm not sure how they got the name 'Andre' when he was told 'Patrick'), the food was in to go containers (not baskets for dining in), the pizza we ordered was in the warmer. No one knew how long it had been done. The excuse behind the counter wjen we told them how long we had waited was 'some of us just got here'. No apology, no nothing. Got brisket, ribs, chicken, and pulled pork. All the meat was cold. Not room temp- cold. The cheese on the pizza had congealed. The crust was hard because it had sat awhile. The sides were room temp and the mac and cheese had skinned over. Flavor-wise, it was okay but definitely tasted like it had been sitting out and was dried out and hard. I have a feeling it was pretty soon, and was just left there. Who knows how long we would've waited if we hadn't gone up to check! First time and...
Read moreI only do reviews of places that are spectacular or spectacularly terrible, unfortunately Porky’s is the latter . We went in on a Saturday at approx. 1:30 about 2.5 hrs after they had in theory opened. We could not order a pizza as the ovens had 30-40 more minutes to warm up . They said there was no brisket , the ribs and chicken in the display case looked like they had been there awhile at least since yesterday . We ordered a chicago hot dog and an Italian beef sandwich , Cole slaw and 2 soft drinks ( the cashier did warn us they were out of coke) it cost almost $25 . Both buns were cold ( like out of the refrigerator cold ) the hot dog was not a quarter pound size just reg size for $5 . Both the hot dog and the Italian beef were lukewarm at best. And the beef was a couple of small slices with mostly beef crumbles . The Cole slaw was fine and looked attractive but was a bit sweet for my personal taste. Several sets of people came in while we were waiting our 10 min to get our lukewarm food , and after being ignored wandered out again without purchasing anything . I had heard good things about this place and was excited to try it but I wont be going back again soon . I hope they can get themselves together and if they do they might survive but as it is they wont last...
Read moreI happened to come across the outdoor location next to the Wendy's next to the mall yesterday....and when I say my fiance and I stopped because we had been told by her mother to try this one instead of the location at the mall because this one has deep fryers and the one inside the mall doesn't apparently. So the outdoor location has fried Cajun catfish etc. I ordered 2 Cajun catfish dinners and paid 9$ plus tax for some fried pickles, just over 35$ in total for those 3 things. And that's not even the issue because I'll pay for good quality food no problem especially being from Chicago I look forward to finding anything that's good and can taste even a little bit like what I can get back home in Chicago. But this food was crazy SALTY. The breading they used to fry the fish and the pickles was literally just excessive salt. Made the food inedible. I forced myself to try and eat as much as I could because I didn't wanna waste my money but I couldn't. I still have the food sitting in the fridge contemplating bringing it back. But I don't even know if they would care. Trust me when I say salty all you could taste was literally a ton of salt in every little piece. Highly disappointed and...
