I've been dining at Amarin Thai since they first opened nearly 30 years ago. I was just a kid at the time, and it has remained my favorite Thai restaurant in the Bay Area ever since.

Over the years, Amarin has been in the hands of some truly amazing owners--Tom, Pary, Aomy, and now, under the care of Ethan, Kitty, and their chefs. Each of them has shared a deep passion for authentic Thai cuisine, bringing the flavors of Thailand to the Bay Area with dedication and love.

Recently, Amarin closed for about a month for renovations, and the results are impressive. The refreshed ambiance feels more modern and upscale, and they've introduced a brand-new menu that adds an elevated touch to both presentation and flavor. The extra attention to detail in plating was a pleasant surprise, making each dish as visually appealing as it is delicious.

As for the food? Still as incredible--if not even better--than before. Many of the same talented chefs remain, alongside a few new additions to the kitchen. The previous owner is also assisting with the transition, and I wish her all the best as she focuses on her family. The new owners seem genuinely committed to upholding Amarin's legacy while continuously improving the experience. They're also very open to customer feedback, which is great to see.

My personal go-to dishes have always been the Crunchy Rolls, Fresh Rolls, and Pad See Ew, but I'm excited to try some of the new additions as well.

If you love Thai food and find yourself in the Bay Area, Amarin Thai is absolutely worth a visit--whether you're a first-timer or a longtime fan. With its new look, refined menu, and the same dedication to quality, it's poised to be...

If you love authentic, fresh, and flavorful Thai food, Amarin Thai Cuisine in Lafayette is the place to go! Under new ownership, this long-time local favorite is thriving with Ethan at the helm—one of the friendliest, most welcoming restaurant owners you’ll ever meet. His passion for great food and hospitality is truly felt the moment you walk in.

The restaurant has a relaxing, cozy atmosphere that makes it perfect for a sit-down meal, but their takeout is just as excellent. We ordered a mix of dishes and were blown away by the quality:

🥢 Fresh Veggie Spring Rolls – Wrapped fresh daily and served with the best peanut sauce ever. 🥥 Coconut Soup (Tom Kha Kai) – A flavorful, creamy, and comforting bowl that transports you to paradise. 🌿 Basil Chicken (Pad Kra Pow) – Perfectly seasoned, packed with fresh ingredients, and full of bold flavors. 🎃 Chicken Pumpkin Curry – A rich, creamy, slightly sweet curry that’s an instant favorite. 🍍 Pineapple Fried Rice – Light, flavorful, and perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. 🍜 Drunken Noodles – A must-try for any noodle lover!

We ordered everything at spice level 2 (out of 5), and it was just the right amount of heat without overpowering the flavors. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes, especially since they also serve breakfast!

If you’re in the area, make sure to stop by, show some love, and say hi to Ethan! And if you’re feeling adventurous, don’t forget to grab some jasmine rice to soak up all that delicious curry.

Highly recommend this spot—whether dining in or grabbing takeout, you won’t be...

Generous portion sizes and great food! The Pad see ew and Pad Thai was delicious but be careful with the spiciness level. We like spicy but the medium spicy is super spicy. Twice we ordered it the same way and it was just too spicy it affected our ability to taste the true flavors of the noodles. The next time we ordered both entrees mild and it was the perfect amount of spicy for me and my fiancé. Fried rice was tasty and the biggest portion size we’ve received from any Thai place. The golden tofu was ok, we probably won’t order that in the future. Tom Ka soup from here is our fav and a must try if you love a coconut milk base soup. The flavors are something special that always makes our mouths water! We love to add our own rice to thicken the soup and make it more hearty. Omy greeted us the moment we walked in and she was super sweet! We drive the extra miles to come to this Thai place over the one closer to our home because of the friendly vibes and great portion sizes, we always have...

I've been twice now. The pad see ew and drunken noodles are good. The pad thai is very good, just be prepared for a little heat. The basil chicken was great. The coconut sticky rice with mango was excellent and with a beautiful presentation. Nice iced thai coffee and fried rolls too. They've refreshed the interior and it looks much nicer. The service really stood out on each of my visits. The servers are efficient, friendly and attentive, and the new owner is wonderful: friendly, helpful and thoughtful. I was initially a little nervous about trying this place as it's under new ownership and I've yet to see it crowded. I'm convinced that is because word hasn't gotten out yet. Definitely give it a try. It's a welcome addition to Lafayette's food scene.
