Second time here but first time reviewing. Ordered the “off menu” Nashville hot chicken plate online for pickup. Ready on time even though the place was very busy when I got there around 7 PM on a Friday night. Two pieces of toast, three chicken tenders, coleslaw, Mac and cheese. Tax, fees, tip total about $20. Hefty package. Opened to see everything looks good. Even with a bit of a drive home everything that I would like to be hot is still that way. Tenders were cooked nicely but two of them were a bit on the flat side so seemed a bit short of chicken to me. The real problem with them is while they looked seasoned they were ok but I go no Nashville hot oil taste (more on that shortly). The sauce that was included gave me a hit of Canes vibes. The coleslaw was really good not in a pool of liquid like a place opened by a colonel would do it. Liked it a lot. The Mac and cheese was really good. Oddly this is where I got some Nashville hot vibes and near the end of the large portion. Did the oil just run off the chicken onto the Mac and that’s why I didn’t get the heat on the chicken? Might have to next time eat there or somewhere close by like Liquid Mechanics on the porch...
Read moreRuby Ru's Street Eatery is an absolute gem! I've been a loyal customer of their chicken teriyaki bowl for ages, and it never disappoints.
The medium-sized portion is incredibly generous, packed with fresh ingredients, and the chicken is so tender and juicy it melts in your mouth. The teriyaki sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and savory.
But the food isn't the only star of the show. The owner's warm hospitality is what truly sets Ruby Ru's apart. He took the time to chat with me about the menu and the restaurant's history while he cooked, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. It's clear he's passionate about what he does, and it shows in every bite.
I wholeheartedly recommend Ruby Ru's to anyone looking for delicious, authentic food and a friendly atmosphere. Supporting local businesses like this is important to me, and Ruby Ru's is definitely...
Read moreRuby Ru's Street Eatery in Lafayette, CO, has a lot of potential with its flavorful menu and vibrant atmosphere, but the experience can be a bit inconsistent. The Bourbon Chicken is definitely a highlight—tender and full of flavor—but not every dish hits the mark. The Chicken Banh Mi Bowl, for instance, could use more seasoning, and the mac and cheese, while creamy, felt a bit bland. The portions are decent, but for the price, some might feel like they’re not getting as much as they should. Service is friendly, though there are times when the staff seems a little overwhelmed, leading to longer wait times, especially during busy hours. While the food has its moments, the inconsistent quality and occasional delays in service make it a good spot but...
