(Barista Abby) I just left Starbucks at 4:35 and had an unpleasant experience with a young lady named Abby. When I arrived, she was making drinks, talking on the walkie talkie complaining , and even attempting to make drinks with one hand. As I stood next in line, she never acknowledged me not even a simple “I’ll be right with you.” I waited about seven minutes before she finally came over, looked directly at me, and only said “hi,” with no real greeting.
While making my two drinks, she told the customer behind me, “I’ll be right with you,” but then immediately turned and gave that person a proper greeting: “Hello, what can I get started for you?” I couldn’t help but notice the difference in treatment, especially since this isn’t the first time she’s interacted with me this way.
To be fair, I even went back in to give her another chance to acknowledge me as a customer. Instead, she glanced at me out of the corner of her eye. I asked a question about gift cards, she gave me a short answer, and when I said “thank you,” she said nothing in return. Clearly, she is capable of communication, since I observed her interacting fully with the customer behind me.
I pay close attention to these things, and I honestly don’t appreciate the lack of professionalism or courtesy. With that being said, if Abby is working the next time I come in for a drink, I’ll likely choose to keep walking.( I would really hate to believe what I thinks the reason is behind me being treated this way and not the...
Read moreJust experienced the worst Starbucks service i have ever received. Waited 15-20 min for my coffee, the 3 people who ordered behind me got their coffees before i did. Not to mention the entire time i was waiting on my coffee a lady was waiting to order. She had a toddler who was great the first 10 min but then you could tell she was struggling to keep him occupied. As a mom myself it would have been so much better if they would have at least taken her order so she could move forward and try to occupy him not standing in line. The guy working behind the counter needs to focus on learning their products better as most of the time was wasted because he wouldn’t stop talking to the girl trying to make the drinks about something he had messed up instead of...
Read moreWe drove through this Starbucks at the tail end of our 12 hour, through the night drive to Chicago. The lady at the drive through was sweet and genuine. One of our drinks tasted watered down, so I walked in to have it remade. The girl at the register was kind and apologetic about my drink. It was really no big deal to me, but she made it out to be like it was to her! Very impressed with her kindness about remaking it. I worked for Starbucks for eight years and as an ASM. It's important to me that baristas are being who the core of Starbucks is about. I don't offen see the Starbucks way still alive and well in the stores, but it was here! Keep up the...
