🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
Whiskey & Vine is hands-down one of the best experiences you can have in Lafayette. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was upscale yet welcoming, the staff made us feel right at home, and the service was absolutely top-tier — attentive, warm, and genuinely invested in making the night unforgettable.
But let’s talk FOOD. Every single dish was bursting with flavor — clearly crafted with love, quality ingredients, and a serious understanding of southern soul and elevated comfort. From appetizers to dessert, not a single bite disappointed. I’d come back for the food alone.
And then… the real magic began.
Layla Lavergne took the stage and absolutely lit the room on fire (in the best way possible). Her voice is unreal — smooth as velvet, sultry when it needs to be, and pure joy when she hits those upbeat notes. She floats effortlessly between blues, jazz, and a little bit of everything in between. Watching her perform isn’t just entertainment — it’s an experience.
Layla doesn’t just sing — she connects with her audience. You feel every lyric, every moment. She brought the crowd to life, and it made an already perfect evening feel like a scene from a movie.
Whiskey & Vine is a gem. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just treating yourself to a night out, don’t walk — run. And if you’re lucky enough to catch Layla Lavergne performing, you’ll leave feeling like you just witnessed something truly special.

Drinks were acceptable. Pulled pork nachos were nice, but you had to eat them with a fork. Portion sizes are tiny overall. My wife's duck salad was missing the blackberries and the vinaigrette only added more bitter to the already bitter mixed greens. Her portion of duck was tiny, overcooked and served cold. I had the poboy. The batter was undercooked on the inside. The bread was almost burnt it was so over toasted. There was a nice portion of fries, that lacked any seasoning unfortunately. They were also very soggy. Back to the poboy. There was a heaping pile of lettuce that was mostly the inner portion of the head of iceberg lettuce that had significant browning on it. The most important part about the poboy was the spicy remoulade sauce. It tasted off. Like it was spoiled. So, I asked my wife to try it. She agreed. I didn't touch another bite after that and just ate a few fries. Turns out that we were right about the remoulade, as it gave us food poisoning later that evening. The rest of the people in our party had similar experiences, without the food poisoning. I'll leave it to them to tell their experiences. My recommendation regarding this place... Drive right past it and go across the street to Ruth's Chris. It'll be cheaper (hard to believe, but true), you can have a conversation at dinner and you'll...
Read moreWe visited with a group of friends last Friday. It was super busy so maybe they were off of their game. The establishment is very nice. We enjoyed the ambience and the band was great. However, I ordered a side car for my wife. Not a single bartender knew how to make a side car which I thought was strange. After about 15 min of them trying to figure it out i settled on an old fashioned instead. I ordered a Corpse reviver for myself. Sat down with our drinks, the old fashioned was not good, didnt taste like it was made well. They gave me a manhattan instead of a corpse reviver. It was ok but not what I ordered. Every bartender was reading recipes off a flip book. I have to assume these are all new bartenders. Now to the food. Appetizers were great. Entrees average. My buddy ordered the duck which he loved. The rest of us ordered Shrimp and Grits, average at best. The meals were cold and the grits were hard. So after reading the other reviews I think they may have just had an off night. We are willing to give them another chance. Overall an average to below average experience. The only reason why im leaving 3 stars instead of 2 was the ambience,...
