Save yourself the rudeness and choose Koffee Klatch instead--only a couple blocks up PCH. I had the misfortune of visiting Pearl Street for coffee while visiting Laguna in September. I was looking for a great place for a cup of coffee; this was not it! Maybe it's because I was a visitor, and this place caters to locals (it was recommended by the manager at my hotel), or perhaps the supervisor was having a bad day, or week, or year... Either way, the supervisor was both rude and incompetent--not only to me but also to the kind young woman she was training. After watching her make excuses to another customer for having "forgotten" to place her food order, I wondered if I might have made a mistake. I did; big mistake, big! I asked for a "no foam" latte... no flavors, no special temperature, whatever milk was convenient. When served, the latte had two inches of foam--no exaggeration. I didn't ask her to remake the latte; I simply asked her to skim off the foam and add a little more milk. She refused, telling me that she had been making lattes for years, and it was impossible to make a latte without foam; sadly, all her years had not taught her the difference between a latte and a cappuccino. The kids wanted pizza, but they did not have any of the four pizzas that are on the menu! My daughter wanted the meat ball sandwich they did not have that eitherâŠand the same with the salami sandwich that my husband wanted. They only had the turkey sandwiches that we ended up all to order. Ahh, and they did not have half and half for the coffee or any other milk other then a non fat milk. In the morning they serve breakfast the coffee is good and they have a very good breakfast egg sandwich. And they have excellent croissant sandwich and the chef is really good. Also in this place you can buy wine and cheese and cold cuts. They also have a full menu for lunch and dinner. The only issue is the short-handed they need more people to provide people with service...
