I had one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life here last night. I had made a reservation which did not seem to matter, then was asked if there was a preference on seating. I asked for the most quiet place as there was a huge party taking up the entire middle of the inside. After more waiting, got placed directly next to the party. Waited 15min for our drink order to be taken, at which point we ordered everything and got attitude from the server for it as he was in a rush. The food took a long time to come, and we asked for refills while waiting which never came. When our food came, we asked again for refills. The refills never came, and toward the end of our meal I went to the bar myself and got refills there. The server was going to bring us our bill and was irritated when we asked for a dessert menu. When he came back to take our order, my husband pointed to something on the menu and was starting to ask a question about it but the server just walked away. We also ordered coffee at that time, but only one coffee was brought to our table and it was old and disgusting. When the server brought the first coffee he was irritated that we asked for another dispite the fact that we ordered 2 to start with. We waited another 20min honestly unsure if the dessert would come or not. The server spent most of his time chatting politely with two other tables in the restaurant. The dessert was both under cooked and burnt which is a very odd combination to have. We have been here on a number of occasions buy never treated so poorly before. Generally speaking the food here is excellent. Not sure what happened but not in a rush to go back and definitely not worth bothering with making a...
Read moreThe one star is based on the food only, not the staff or service. If I could, I would give the food a 1/2 star. I was craving some good authentic pasta and meatballs. Because my BF and I want to branch out and try new places, we chose Villa Roma. We ate on the deli side, so the ambiance was less than, but tonight wasn't about ambiance. I ordered the rigatoni dish with the meatballs and sausage. This was neither good nor authentic. The meatballs were very rubbery with huge chunks of onion surrounded by a little meat. The texture was so bizarre that I was relieved to find they also tasted awful. I mean, if they had good flavor I'd have been bummed that the texture was keeping me from enjoying the meatballs. The sausage was also rubbery and odd tasting. The sauce had a grass / dirt after taste, so essentially I had a plate of food I could not eat. The waiter asked how everything was tasting, and I had to tell him that I found the meal to be not very good. He did offer to get me something else, but by that time, I had lost my appetite. To be fair, I am Italian and can cook Italian dishes very well. I learned from my mom who is still the best there is, and I've yet to find a restaurant that compares. Usually I find the food in Italian restaurants to be at about a 3 or 4 out of 5, but never a 1 (or less than) like Villa Roma. We won't go back, but that doesn't mean others shouldn't...
Read moreHORRIBLE first time experience. We drove about 25 minutes to purchase some meat for a party we're having tomorrow, (would have been around $80-$100 worth) and having not been there before, we waited by the meat counter for assistance, multiple employee's saw we needed help & kept disappearing. We went to the checkout/cashier area and the woman working there was speaking to a gentleman that was just standing there eating food, and she saw us and in a rude tone goes "uhm yes? may I help you???" we told her we needed meat and before we could finish telling her nobody was helping us she interrupts and says "well are you having dinner here OR??? We tell her no we just wanted to buy some meat, she then quickly points "well then you need to go stand by the MEAT counter then." We proceeded to tell her we had been waiting and waiting without any assistance, but gave it another try and walked yet again over to the meat counter, waited another 5+ minutes (not an employee in sight) and just said screw this. Its really frustrating that this woman who worked there could have easily went into the back & just simply asked someone to assist us, but unfortunately this establishment doesn't put customer service at the top of there priorities. Sad to say we will not be back, and they lost 2...
