I first found Ocean Art Center while looking for a summer art class for my children. I was blown away at the art work that they came back with from their trial class... it was classic art lessons with still life, not busy work/arts and craft projects like so many other art classes I've tried. Fast forward, I decided to take art classes for myself while my kids are in school and I've learned so much. Julie, the owner, is the most patient and kindest person who will teach you art fundamentals or guide and help you through your own project. She is a wealth of knowledge, very skilled, and her own art work is amazingly beautiful. If you are looking for a real art class where you can explore your own talent, or give your children the opportunity to learn fundamentals of art, Ocean Art Center is great. This place is a wonderful place hidden down in South Orange County (Laguna Hills). Ms. Julie, the art center’s director and owner, is the most patient, kind, and skilled teacher. I took my kids down to her intro class, and enrolled them in a summer camp and just after a week of instruction, my 9 year old son was using his new shading and highlight skills in all of his art he does in his free time.
