Read moreUp until today, I've been a fan of World Market. I buy international treats, candles, home decor, and seasonal decorations. I've been coming to the Mission Viejo location for almost 20 years.
NEVER AGAIN.
I placed an online order for pickup at 4 p.m. I ate dinner and ran some errands. It was almost 6 p.m. Even though I hadn't received a message telling me my order was ready, I thought maybe I could grab the bag, show them my order and be on my way.

The cashier told me that since it was shipped from the warehouse, I couldn't grab a bag in store. I said I didn't ask for it to be shipped, I asked to pick up in store.
The cashier then said I couldn't have the 10% discount for member pickup in store. I said I'm here. For pickup. In store. She still acted like I was being shady and said she'd have to call a manager to authorize this suspicious transaction. I said no.
So I drove home. It took 7 minutes. As I was pulling into the drive, I got a text that my order was ready for pickup. I cancelled the order.
Never World Market...

I thought it was strange as she was just behind the register, but figured she was doing a lap around the store. She ended up following me the whole 20 minutes I was there. I ended up just leaving because I was too uncomfortable. She made me feel like I was some sketchy criminal, which sucked because I love walking around the store and checking out all the cool things. One of my favorite things to do normally and it got tainted by...
