I'm really disappointed with my recent experience at Peet's Coffee in Laguna Niguel. I've been a loyal customer in this area for the past 10 years, and I've been frequenting this specific location for the past 3 years. On this particular day, I had just arrived and was planning to order my regular black coffee along with a sandwich, as I always do.
As a realtor, I often set up my work station in various coffee shops to get some work done, and this time was no different. However, what shocked me was the manager's immediate and unwarranted reaction. The manager and most likely owner, who is a dark-haired Middle Eastern woman with an accent, came out of nowhere and told me I needed to leave immediately. I had barely been in the cafe for 3 minutes ( no exaggeration) and I had not yet placed my order.
What bothered me the most was the manager's terrible attitude and the lack of any initial inquiry about my intentions. She didn't ask if I was planning to make a purchase or if there was anything she could assist me with – instead, she simply demanded that I leave with a snarky attitude. It was a jarring and unexpected experience, especially given my long history as a customer at this location.
I'm not usually one to write negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share this because the manager's behavior was completely out of line. A simple question about my intentions would have sufficed, and I would have gladly placed my order as I always do. This experience left me quite appalled, and I hope it serves as a reminder for the importance of courteous and respectful customer service in any...
Read moreI had to file a complaint because I come here every morning and the older manager barista lady with long curly hair and an accent has been rude to me on more than one occasion (and rude to other customers who have recently reviewed about her on here) , has made me feel like I'm sort of cockroach. I never would treat my customers in this manner in the local establishment I currently manage & operate. She disrespectfully has made it a point to breach Peet's open door policy ( which I would love to believe Peet's enforces strictly) ultimately making me feel unwelcome & demeanor so completely out of line. She threatened to kick me out if I don't immediately pay for something. My lovely husband has came in to speak to her about it twice now on the occasions she has made me feel unworthy of decent common respect assuming I must be homeless and unworthy of being kind to ... and she still can't be respectful because she has threatened to kick me out if I don't buy something more than once now. Its disgusting. It's embarrassing to know there are people like this working face to face with customers. An employee displaying this type of demeanor and low class...I personally wouldn't be proud to have...
Read moreEspresso drinks taste pretty good but are on the weak side. I feel like I need more caffeine after. I came in the morning after having major surgery last month for my first time getting espresso as a treat since I couldn’t have it after surgery with my jaw wired closed. I came in, was not acknowledged for several minutes. No one else was in line, though they were making mobile orders. Eventually my order was taken but he left to do other things before I could pay, so my drink still didn’t make it into the drink que from mobile orders. After 13 minutes from arrival I finally got my drink. I said thank you, but I am unable to speak loudly due to recently being wired shut. As I walked away, one of the baristas made a super loud, snotty “you’re welcome” as if I hadn’t said thank you. I paid a premium for a drink. I was completely ignored when I came in- maybe because my face looks odd and swollen and then I was shamed loudly because the woman never looked at me to see I had said thank you. Very disappointing to be shaming people clearly who are physically not well and not like the inclusive Peets I remember from Berkeley....
