For a restaurant that names itself pho world, it does not deliver whatsoever when it comes to the authentic flavors of Vietnamese food. Although many would deem the pho from this restaurant as excellent, or with rich flavor, the broth is something that tastes like it was made with too much beef concentrate/msg/ or perhaps no raw spices. The broth was too much on the sweet side, to the extent that you must add lime + mint etc, with no flavor of a broth that has been simmering with beef bones. The broth is the most important factor of pho, needing to be clear with a rich beef taste was practically a mouthful of sugar water with beef flavor. The mint and greens that came out with the noodles were old and wilting with most of them being darker than should be served. The noodles were fine and the meat used (eye round, brisket, meatball) were all on par but more on the tough side. The server did what you expect from an Asian restaurant, take your order and never come back. I spent $70.40 for 4 bowls of pho including drinks and I won't be back. - for an average of $14.50+ a bowl of pho I expected more of everything since typically a bowl should not go for more than $9.75-$12.75...
Read moreUpdate to my previous review, never again will I patronize this restaurant. The service tonight was horrific, not horrible, horrific. Food was not even close to being delivered all at once. A gentleman there had waited 45 minutes without food. My daughter got no food at all. When she told the owner to cancel her order after 40 minutes of not getting any food at all, the owner had the audacity to yell at my daughter. This could not be countenanced. I told the lady she had no right or reason to yell at my daughter. Our food went undelivered except for mine, and I never so much as got irked with the young lady serving, yet this woman felt like she had the right to yell at my daughter and the other customer who hadn't received any food. It was so unprofessional and uncalled for, that a third party in the restaurant commended me on my restraint when dealing with the owner lady. If you want some good Vietnamese food go to LA Pho, because I don't recommend going to Pho Tien at all, because clearly they have no respect for...
Read moreI want to start with the worst part of my experience—there were roaches. Not just on the floor, but one was actually crawling on my table.
As for the service, it was terrible. My waiter, who looked like a teenager, had his headphones on while serving my food. I literally had to ask him to take them off just so I could request more limes. After bringing out my food, he never checked back. When I went to find him, he was at the register, still wearing his headphones, glued to his phone.
Now, onto the food. This is the most disappointing part because, out of all the pho spots I've tried in the area, this one comes the closest to an authentic recipe. Unfortunately, it still wasn’t great. The meat tasted stale, the bean sprouts were clearly old, and I was given just one tiny sprig of cilantro. My spring rolls were also underwhelming.
Overall, I do not recommend this place—unless you enjoy bugs, old food, and...
