We were waiting for a few minutes for a hostess to appear and get us seated, but the hostess was very pleasant and seated us promptly. The server appeared quickly and took our drink order. She checked back with us while we made a decision about our meal choice. The kitchen brought our meals out in a reasonable amount of time. My husband asked for a warmup on his coffee, and I asked to order a hot smores latte. My latte came, but the coffee didn't. He had to ask for it again. Not a big deal. Just stating facts. I ordered the combo sampler with meatloaf, Homestyle Chicken, green beans and macaroni and cheese, with biscuits and a side of sawmill gravy. My food arrived hot, and was delicious. My husband ordered Mama's breakfast with eggs, bacon, and pancakes, with a side of toast. His food arrived hot, and was great except for the pancakes (which he didn't eat rightaway, because he had toast.)When he started eating the pancakes, I noticed he seemed to have a difficult time cutting into them with his fork. I asked if they were "tough." He said yes. I suggested he tell the server, but he doesn't like to complain. He said he would bring them home and feed wildlife with them. Overall, I gave a score of 5, because our experience was very good. Sub scores were a bit lower because of the reasons listed. Cracker Barrel used to be a great experience, and a friendly place to eat what felt like a fantastic home cooked meal, and a place to wander around looking at antique whatevers, browse the shop for foods and things you remembered from years gone by. Things have changed, the menu specifically, and for some reason the appeal from years gone by just isn't the same. This Cracker Barrel is just off the interstate in Lake City , Fl. There are many restaurants and fast food places there to choose from. Apparently, people are going elsewhere. Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse, and Longhorn always seem to be busy. I hope Cracker Barrel can regain its past charm, and great food. Momma's French Toast Breakfast, with Blackberry topping was my favorite. But it isn't offered anymore. Too bad. I would pay more to get it. Apples or peaches, what they offer now, are not something I...
Read moreGrabbed Brunch. I had a service animal with me. When they seated me they sat me in a corner out of view. Other tables were available but, that was fine. I still had work to do anyway. My waitress was helpful, a sweet female with dark hair. She took great care of the table and her timing on refills was great.
This other waitress, some older woman, storms up to my table and leans over and says Ma'am! You CANNOT have an- ANIMAL- at the table! She smirks at me, actually smirks. I was too tired to deal with it after an already 13-hour day.. I looked at her, shocked, then angry. I decided not to say anything to her and placed my service animal next to me on the floor. The floor was filthy. My service animal was in a chair next to me by the way, pull close to me and away from anyone else. ... She walked back by to see where my service animal was, and again, with the judgy look and smirk...
I kept my temper, but I was angry at the treatment, tone, and rudeness. Mind you she wasn't even a manager. She was some random server..trying to do a manager job. She was outside of her lane. This wasn't about policy, she just ran her mouth and stuck her nose in something that had nothing to do with her or her position.
Then, the food. First, it took forever, When I got it, the French toast came out burned, with Black edges and I mean it was burned, burned, and I thought it came with powdered sugar? Maybe I'm mistaken. The bacon was half-cooked. The eggs were swimming in grease. I drank my coffee, OJ, placed the crap food in a Togo box, and left. Won't eat it, but it is what it is. Not a good first impression from this place.
And a note to the Karen waitress. You have no idea why someone has a service animal with them or what proximity their animal has to be to do the best job, or if they are in training, or if it's medicine-related. Stay in your lane, because your actions and behavior towards a service animal or -ANIMAL, as you so smirkingly put it. Just caused this review. I'm being kind by not adding your name. I'm sure the management can...
Read moreAs per usual with this time of the year Cracker Barrel is busy busy busy, people in the store trying to get knick knacks and gifts and candles cuz who doesn't like candles. Walked up to the host and said I had a party of two, the host said it would be 15 minutes. But she was so polite about it I couldn't really be upset. I walked around this massive store in sensory overload because there's stuff on top of the table under the table around the table. Found a few gifts for the love of my life and as soon as I found them the host called my name and that was the quickest 15 minutes of my life and we could take it and sat down and this very attractive woman walks over to the table she has in Gold letters on her apron spelling out Mistie with four gold stars I asked her what the four gold star stood for she told me it meant she was really good at her job. I smiled and said game on because I had no idea what I was hungry for. She got a drink order first and when she came back with the drinks we were ready to talk breakfast she set me up with a three egg breakfast with hash browns whole grain toast and and bacon and my friend got the same except his eggs were sunny side up. Before we knew it our food was on the table with plenty of jelly a fresh drink. She smiled and said if we needed anything else she would be right around. And me and my friend enjoyed our meal. Mistie came and checked on us one more time before she dropped the check we wished her happy holidays and thanked her for her service and she smiled and said happy holidays all in all the best breakfast I've had in a long time and the service was amazing if you have a chance to go up there request Mistie (Misty) the par 4 because she is fantastic at her job. We took the check to the counter where we got the items we found earlier tip the waitress and went along...
