Spoiler alert! I completely forgot to take a picture of our food. I will do so the next time we come because we will be going back.
We were looking for a place to eat because we're from out of town and we wanted something quick but good. I decided I wanted some seafood. After checking out sanitation scores for different restaurants, we decided on this restaurant because it was scored 100 out of 100. Did not know what to expect, but we are so happy we chose this restaurant. When you walk in R&B music playing the atmosphere is very chill and not very fancy. We were greeted very warmly and excitingly! I couldn't believe this was actually a place that welcomed and wanted customers! I had the shrimp appetizer with plain garlic butter and spicy garlic butter. My wife had the catfish combo and I had the chicken wing combo. She had french fries with her catfish and I had fried corn with my chicken wings. One of the waitresses stated that we should try the food before putting any type of condiments on it. So we did as we were instructed, and we were both happy we followed her rules. The food is seasoned perfectly the catfish was fried perfectly; crunchy, and juicy. The chicken was fried perfectly I chose to get the chicken wings without the batter and they were nice and crispy and juicy. The sauces I chose were delicious. The only complaint I have is that the chicken wings could have been bigger but I do understand that the chicken wings that we get nowadays that are bigger are actually not the correct size. But, they were so good I was wishing they were bigger! We had already told them we would be back the next time we visit! This place gets 10 thumbs ups Yes you heard me I only have two but they need 10! Great job, great staff, and Great...
Read moreIn an effort to support this Black owned business, I cancelled my order to Juicy Crab and tried their snow crab specialty tray yesterday with spicy trap butter and trap or die sauce on the side. My entire boil bag portion was able to comfortably fit in a standard size to-go 3 section styrofoam white tray - I was disappointed by the small amount of food for the higher price point. 2 eggs, 2 crab clusters, 5 shrimp, 1 corn, 2 potatoes, and sausage is what you get-I subbed out the sausage for 1 additional piece of corn. The customer service was A+ but unfortunately there was no taste at all to the crab boil sauce or the juice in the bag - the flavor off everything in the bag depends on the seasonings and sauce. I suffered through 1/3 of the food before i finally added my own seasonings and salt to try to salvage what was left. After adding the necessary seasonings and the side of trap or die the rest of my boil was actually delicious but for $50+ I feel like the taste should be top tier out of the bag. Due to the small amount of food, as soon as I began to enjoy my order it was finished- I even had to eat again shortly after because I was still hungry. Overall, I was left feeling slight regret and disappointment because I could have went somewhere else and purchased more food in my boil, with much better flavor and taste, for close to $10 less- I felt a bit robbed. Unless they enhance the quality of the seasonings and flavor and add more ingredients to each portion of their boils, I probably won't be returning to support this establishment. I desire to support my own but not at the cost of good eating and...
Read moreHIDDEN GEM! I don’t typically leave reviews unless I am impressed. With that said, our server/bartender KP and the chef/owner were absolutely phenomenal hosts. Service was top tier and the entire vibe (music, good food/drinks, good energy and customer service) ensures patrons will return. These people know what tastes GOODT! I live in Cobb county (20+ miles away) and will happily return to ClayCo for another good time and dining experience.
I was invited by a friend for a next day after Thanksgiving meal at the Crab Trap House. We ordered appetizers (Wings, Calamari, Trap “Mozzarella” sticks), so doggone GOODT! Wings and Calamari were at first bite bangin’! #Yum! I don’t even like mozzarella sticks and ate them all! lol The Urban Center Cultural drink names were a funny icebreaker. We had a few BBLs sans the surgery. Bomb diggity! Bartender was on point and enhanced the vibe with her down to earth personality. Super cool.
We had Trap Samplers with a few additions added. The seafood was so fresh and large size crabs and shrimp. The beef sausage and turkey sausage are absolutely delicious - chef made a great choice. But the star of the mofo show is DAT BUTTA! Man, listen?! DAT BUTTA is a winner and not a beginner. Flavorful! So much so, we had to order a couple small containers of it to go and take home.
I tell you no lies. They deserve ALL of the praise I just wrote. This is a hidden gem of deliciousness and great customer service. Grab up your crew, drop by and enjoy yourselves or go at it alone by dining in or take-out. Tell them T-Money from Cobb...
