IMPORTANT POINT BAR STAFF PLEASE READ Upon ordering the cobb salad I was excited to see that they use dark leafy greens versus iceberg lettuce. However, upon looking at the leaves they looked just as if were wilting and begining to decompose. They were not moldy, but again they looked as dark green slimmy leaves you get when dark leaves begin to wilt. I was made to feel by the blonde short haired waitress that they were not moldy and looked fine, I felt very foolish and embarrassed as I am a Food Safety Health Inspector and I am very aware of the difference between what "fresh" and "mold" look like. They were obviously NOT moldy as they had no fuzz, they were wilting and slimy though and smelt foul. Also, being 8 and a half months pregnant there was no hospitality in offering a new meal or different option, we are grateful it was removed. But please train staff restaurant hospitality. I chose to eat elsewhere and was unable to have a meal of my own among my group of friends and husband. I ended up eating off of their meals, they fortunately made sure I was fed.
Not angry and more than humble to return to try again, as working as a Food Safety inspector in this field I understand the stressors of being a waiter and a chef behind the scenes. The waitress needs to know I do not blame her. She just lacks hospitality training, that needs to be resolved through a manager/corporate training program. Mostly a training issue from upper level staff. The chefs need to ALWAYS serve fresh produce. I ate there 4/7/17 at around 3-4pm.
Thank you for these considerations. Again, no hard feelings I just want this to be avoided so someone doesn't...
Read moreMy wife and I discovered this place one night while looking for a local burger. This place is an awesome neighborhood joint. It is a bar, that happens to also have excellent bar food. The bacon burger was awesome with nice crisp French fries. My wife got the gyro and it was also delicious. The beer is really cold and always fresh. Lume is the bartender and waitress...She is a Jersey Firecracker who doesn't take any shit, but at the same time she's very personable if you're not rude to her or a pain in the ass. The bar has its usual compliment of locals on any given night. This is an excellent watering hole with local flavor and more than enough tv's to catch any sporting event. They also have a few pool tables if that's your thing. If you want an overpriced appletini served by a dizzy bartender while your kids gnaw on overcooked chicken Tenders, then go to Chili's...if you want a good neighborhood joint with great atmosphere with reasonably priced, excellent food and drinks, then this is the...
Read moreYou know the song “I love this bar”? Well I love this bar! All the servers and bartenders are amazing, the food is unexpectedly good, and it is a local business run by an amazing family living their American dream.
Smoking is allowed, so if you are sensitive to that it may not be your place. Love a cigar or a place to have a good drink and smoke? Check The Point out! It has been our haven during freezing cold and blistering hot times. Plus they have a great bourbon selection.
The food is amazing. Some of the best fajitas, salsa, pizza and salads I have found in the area. The drinks are fair pours -and priced. Yes, prices have gone up but so has everything!
So I highly recommend this place as long as you know what it is- an awesome bar with great food and fantastic staff. I’ve been coming at least twice a week for many years, and will continue to...
