Starbucks — Restaurant in Texas

I have modified my rating from a 5 star to a 3 star. This location has gone from 5 to 3. Most of the staff is friendly and we visit this location a few times a week so we are very familiar.

On to the issue that has been reoccurring for the last month at least. The coffee is lukewarm at best...just the regular, basic, coffee...what they are known for...we have gone at different times of day/morning and it is so consistent that we run to the Chevron next door to put it in the microwave there to heat it to a hot temperature. We have asked them at the drive thru to fix it and are met with varying degrees of customer service. We have decided, on several occasions, to just pull to the front of the store and go in and get it fixed when they are busy so not to hold up the line. We would hate to be seen as "Karens" as the modern day vernacular might have you believe lest there be a viral video out of the moment. We have spoken to a manager about how we can better order our basic beverages to our liking. Alas instead of purchasing a $3 sad Starbucks cuppa we take a Kcup from home at this point. Line was way, way, way long at the drive up. Probably because it is cold outside and 2 days before Thanksgiving, a lot of folks out feeling the holiday spirit. Other times I've been here the line at the drive up is no big deal. The coffee though I have noticed consistently at least using the drive thru is not hot. I mean right after getting it, it is just a notch above warm and yes, I am ordering the hot coffee not the cold or iced varieties and no cream or milk is going in to cool.it off.. That is the only thing I can complain about. Well...that and the intercom speaker deal when ordering, they never hear me and always ask me to repeat it, sometimes twice. I don't have a speech impediment and I talk at a normal volume with no car radio on to interfere. I'm thinking they might want to replace that outside equipment. Anyway, all in all, I guess it is a typical Starbucks. I prefer the one across the street that is inside Albertson's, even without the convenience of a drive thru, it is a better Starbucks, IMO. I love this Starbucks. The staff is amazing! The drive thru line is sometimes a little long, but always worth the wait. I have had several great experiences at this location. The most recent one was I was ordering while my 2 year old was screaming in the back seat. By the time I got to the window and paid, the lady handed me the wrong eggs (which was no big deal because I ordered the wrong thing being flustered by the screaming that was happening in the back seat). I told her it was wrong but that it was ok I would try it out. She INSISTED on getting me what I meant to order. Not only that, but she refunded my money for my inconvenience AND gave me a $4 off my next order card. When I thanked her she told me she understands how it is because she has three kids of her own. It was rather refreshing to me to see the humanity in this often times inhumane world. Not to mention I have been in this line two or three times in the past year where everyone has paid it forward by paying for the order behind them.
