I had an incident recently where when I went to pick up the pink cake I ordered for my aunt's 75th birthday I was given a purple cake. I posted a negative review on Google about this experience because I wanted to warn others. The proprietor should have taken this opportunity to respond by 1) admitting the mistake, 2) apologizing and 3) acknowledging the customer's frustration and disappointment in not meeting expectations - nothing more and nothing less. Instead, the owner of Linnybird Bakeshop took the opportunity to bear false witness and gaslight by claiming, "I went back and reviewed the camera after I read this review. I am happy to know that the girls did their best to help you by not only offering you a refund but also offering to fix the cake. You said not to worry about either and left. I only wish you could have allowed us to fix this mistake since it truly did mean so much to you." This is patently FALSE. I asked the girls behind the counter if they could add pink sprinkles to fix the cake and they told me that the sprinkles are applied when the icing is wet and since the icing was now dry, that any additional sprinkles applied would not adhere to the cake. So, there was no "fixing" to be done to the cake. If there was, then I would have left with a pink cake and not the purple cake I had to take home. It's shameful for a business owner to alter the narrative of what actually happened. It's really important to be humble in business, to acknowledge your mistakes and to be accountable. It is not acceptable to "blame the victim." For anyone looking for a cake for a special occasion, you'd do well to opt to work with someone that is honest and can get the job done right. Mistakes are forgivable,...
Read moreLets start at the beginning. For my daughter’s wedding we need 5 sheet cakes. My daughter’s grandma is a beautiful oil painter and we got some of her artwork printed as an edible image. It was important for the cake to be delicious and beautiful. We taste test the follow bakeries: The London Baker Linnybird Bakery Mike’s Bakery Market street store bakery Blue Bonnet Bakery
We had the bride, groom, Mother of the Bride (ME) and several others blindly taste the cakes. All the cakes were good but the stand out winner was Linnybird bakery. The cake was flavorful, moist and the clear winner. Now onto getting the images placed on the 9 X 13 cakes. We wanted to have a frame like border around the images. As we were talking about how to do that with Becky and Matt and they were so accommodating listening to us non bakers and really willing to do anything to get our vision of what we wanted to be a reality. We picked up 5 beautiful cakes that when shown to Grandma made her cry (again). I am beyond please with the taste, the look and the great customer service given to us by Linnybird. I highly recommend them for all your baked goods needs. You really can’t go wrong in choosing them for your event or just your sugar cravings. Here are some pictures of the...
Read moreThey got my wedding cake order wrong three times. I originally agreed to let them fix it a fourth time but I changed my mind. I didn’t feel comfortable purchasing the cake with how rude the staff was to me and my mom. We did our best to work with them but we didn’t want to pay $70 for a cake that isn’t what we asked for. There was a little miscommunication over the phone but after going into the shop in person and explaining what I wanted twice they continued to not do what I asked. I called and cancelled the order and hung up. When I went in the last time the owner said that I wouldn’t have to buy the cake if I didn’t like it. He mocked my mom while she was in there and one of his workers threw a fit in front of us. The owner proceeded to lie and say we had to pay $10 for another cake we purchased, picked up, and paid for two days prior to the last interaction. He yelled at her and banned us from linnybird. We have never been so disrespected and I am very disappointed to see that the new ownership has tanked the value...
