Del Taco — Restaurant in Lake Elsinore

My issue isn't with this location specifically, but Del Taco over all. It makes me sad to say this because I used to prefer Del Taco over Taco Bell, but I can't defend how bad the quality of food is, especially for the increased prices to boot. A few years ago, they started getting really stingy with the amount of fries they gave you. Then I noticed after my first visit in almost a year they reduced the amount of meat in their chicken strips and tried to hide it by making them a really weird super thin smashed sort of shape that looks more like a long chicken nugget now. Granted they were always more like chicken nuggets and terrible, but I liked them before nonetheless.

Now my most recent visit, I got one of their box combo meal things...they actually had these once before a few years ago. The first version of them had a quesadilla that was a reasonable size, if I recall, it was a single burrito sized tortilla folded in half. What do they give you now? I'm not even joking, it's literally the size of a tortilla used for tacos, then cut in half, it's an absolute joke. Then to add insult to injury, the fries I got were cold, not even room temp, actually cold and tasted horrible. I'm not being dramatic when I say, I've never had fries that were so intolerably bad that I threw them out and this was my first time having to do so. Needless to say, this was my last visit to Del Taco. I won't be shocked if Del Taco keeps getting sold off until they inevitably shut down. I'm really sad it has come to this because they used to be one of my most visited fast food chains. I had a lot of memories tied to their food, but with so many other way better options they simply don't offer any value anymore and I'm not talking about...

Horrible customer service. I ordered 3 burritos from this location, when I returned to my house I realized that i only had 2 burritos. I immediately called Del Taco to see if they left a burrito behind, and when I begin to explain to the employee that I was missing 1 burrito. The employee didn't even take the time to hear what I was trying to explain and the employee hung up on me. (Keep in mind that I visited this location around 11:30 pm) so Del Taco was not busy at all. When I went back to Del Taco to pick up what I paid for, the employee grabbed the receipt from my hand in a very rude and obnoxious behavior and called out for another burrito to be made but made it seem as if he was annoyed that I returned for my missing burrito. I will not be returning to this location anymore. This is not the first time that I have returned home to find out that the employee either didn't give me everything I paid for or screwed up my order by adding certain condiments that I specifically asked not to add...

Omg update, geesh this place just keeps getting worse, againwent a few night back, and its just too much to post, this employees are rude, food is spilling all over the bag, not putting what was ordered in the bag, Having to turn around to go get order after realizing there's items missing, 10/4/23 . I'll drive across town to the other Del Taco where the employees are really nice and you get what you ordered in your bag without a mess. Or attitudes. just went there tonight and ordered a couple different things for the family I will say that California burrito is the driest burrito I've had in a long time they used to be really good at this place and now their food has gone down in quality. The carne asada fries had less meat than before. Like a year ago. Honestly places in Lake Elsinore are starting to go downhill it is really sad because we had some really good restaurants and fast food eateries and it seems like everyone's just getting super cheap...
