Aztlan Tacos — Restaurant in Lake Elsinore

DELICIOUS HOMEMADE TORTILLAS! I’ve been following Aztlan Tacos on Instagram for a few months now and I finally made it in! The girl at the counter greeted me with a smile and was INCREDIBLY professional! I asked about their namesake taco the “Aztlan Taco” and she broke it down for me. I didn’t get her name but she was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.

I ordered two of the “Aztlan” tacos with carne asada as she recommended, they were really tasty! I think the carne asada could’ve been a bit more savory but it’s only a minor suggestion. The authentic flavors and in-house tortillas wrapping the tacos were phenomenal. My highlight were the sopes! I cannot recommend them enough, you MUST try the sopes! I ordered one chicken sope and it was hands down one of the best sopes I’ve ever had! The cream, cheese, meat and sope itself tasted like ingredients I would get in Mexico! Trust me, I know authentic. PRO-TIP: Squeeze a little lime on your Aztlan tacos, I did!

Everything about this taco shop was quite convenient and accessible. There’s a salsa bar which is covered at all times, a small fountain with classic soft drinks and a side fountain with jamaica and horchata. The restaurant was very clean and modern. I appreciated the quality AC too!

I came across Tacos Aztlan when my cousin who lives in Lake Elsinore and 2 exits away (Lake St) took me there because I was craving authentic Mexican food. They sponsored her sons basketball team from Temescal canyon all through his HS years. I live in Rancho Cucamonga and love their food that I don't mind the drive. It is the only place I'll eat the al pastor, nothing comes close to theirs. Their salsa (hot) is delicious. Their shrimp burritos, delicious. My co-workers and I enjoy coming here for lunch. The lady at the register is cute and always friendly. The service is prompt and accurate.

The ambiance of Aztlan is very "industrial." It's not a place I'd take a date, or feel cozy on a cold/windy day. The floor is treated concrete and the walls are someone sparse in the way of decorations. However, this location is VERY clean, both in the dining area and restrooms.

I normally get a burrito with a side of chips and take it to go. My friends will frequently enjoy more "authentic food" and always have good things to say.
