First off let me say where I grew up chicken Express and Bush's chicken are the only places worth buying chicken from so I was estatic I would have a little piece of home here. I have never had a problem with either of them in any other place but Lake Jackson. I have been there a handful of times and only once did I not have an issue with the food. Well this time is the absolute LAST time I will eat chicken Express. At 9 on Friday I went threw the drive threw and got a family pack of tenders I should have known something was going to be wrong when the warmers looked turned off and everything was being cleaned although they weren't supposed to close for another hour. 30 bucks later I got home and opened it. The Mac and cheese looked like it was from 2 days ago as well as the mashed potatoes both of which were partially cold. Mind you i live only 5 min away or less. The tenders had a almost flavorless taste and weren't hot or fresh tatsing. I called and spoke with a manager and she was professional and nice and offered to replace the meal, but I had enough poor food from chicken Express. Needless to say we ended up with food poisoning. Even my dog. 200 vet bill, 100 plus in carpet cleaning, and a missed day of work later I'm furious. I would advise anyone to stay far away from this establishment. Either the food was old, bad before it was cooked or possibly all of the cleaning supplies being sprayed contaminated our food....
Read moreAs I am a person who placed an order on DoorDash. This changes the overall experience. However, that doesn't mean I should face condescending tones when saying I have an a DoorDash via the drivrthru intercom.
Here is the crux my issue. If it is no longer allowed for me to pickup a DoorDash pickup order via the drivethru. You can explain as such in a civil manner and without annoyance in your voice. Then add in the additional wait time.
The fact the estimated ready time was close to 20 minutes over what was expected. Should probably be presented with some sort of "sorry for the inconvenience." Versus being a deadpan follow up to your already rude tone.
As someone who works in this industry I understand it can be thankless. However, that doesn't give you free reign to be so offputting to people who've not even given you a reason to be. Some customers can be disrespectful and are deserving of critique. Some are not.
In addition, if you have a no DoorDash pickups through drive-thru policy. Might be a good idea to be consistent with it. As I've previously picked it up via the drivethru a number of times. Bring this up as it would save on some headache if all employees followed the same policies.
Likely, not spending money here any more. Despite how much I've enjoyed the food in the past. Just can't get behind supporting an establishment that doesn't instill some modicum of respect in those...
Read moreWe won't eat here again.
My family ate here for the first time, right after it first opened, and the chicken tenders, sides, and biscuits were pretty good.
We don't eat fried chicken and comfort sides too often, and when we all decided to have it tonight, we chose Chicken Express over Chick-fil-A.
Dumb choice.
We ordered tender plates for all of us, spicy for my husband and I, and regular for our child.
When we got home to eat, we may as well have asked a brick Mason to prepare our food.
Everything from the biscuit to the okra, various other sides, and tenders where DRY. Everyrhing tastes as if it had been sitting there 30 minutes or so. The tenders were dry and crunchy in a bad way, the gravy had a skin and was watery. The okra was overcooked to the point it was just "fry" and not okra, and the Mac n cheese had oil speration in it. And the biscuits were like hockey pucks.
I understand to be "fast food" it is allowed to be precooked, and sit under a heat lamp for x amount of time, but our food was left too long.
OH, and our kitchen is now full of those tiny knat bugs. We didn't have them before tonight, and now all of the sudden, we have a swarm. I think they came in with the food. 🤷🏻♀️
Maybe my husband left an old banana in his truck, and just so happened to bring it in with the food,...
