1501 Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in Lake Mary

I was chastised for using the coffee machine, normal coffee, nothing fancy because I was not a guest at the hotel, although we just paid 25 bucks a piece for a sub par, prettied up, normal old continental breakfast. The free kind at other hotels. Regardless, my 25 dollars for the buffet that had only 5 hot items, did not come with coffee. And if I was getting it from the wrong place, apologies, but the worker was rude, barely spoke English, and seemed passionate about chasing folks away from the "other" coffee machine. No explanation, just the same question louder each time: "What is your room number?" until I was embarrassed and walked away. Hopefully, he got all his frustration out on me, and other customers won't have to deal with it. Other than the modern look, clean lines for atmosphere, there was nothing else worth reporting. AWFUL SERVICE! Took my wife and child to Bistro 1501 for Mother's Day Brunch. Yes, the food was great, but the service was absolutely awful. Once seated, it took forever to receive drinks. Guest are not assigned a waiter/waitress, all the employees work together. Being a buffet, we had several plates that were not cleared, and drinks were never refilled. I mentioned our concerns to an employee, but nothing became of it. I then spoke with a manager who sent someone over that took care of the situation. After some time past, we were back to the same concerns. I just asked an employee for the check. After some more time had past with no check, I spoke with the same manager. Finally the check arrived - included the expected $40 a person, but also an automatic 18% gratuity. WE'LL...

We were so disappointed by our experience here. We had a rare date night and thought the menu looked good so we made a reservation and drove about 30 minutes to dine here. Upon arrival we learned that the dining room is closed and has been since Covid. It doesn’t really make any sense and the atmosphere in the lobby area was not where we wanted to spend a lot of money and enjoy a night out.
