Please do yourself a favor and grab brunch from somewhere else. The last thing you want is to argue with a manager about your food when you’re hungry and wanting a delicious breakfast.
I’ve worked across the street from this place for years, and I’ve ordered the cream-cheese filled omelet for years. I ordered it today and it wasn’t filled with cream cheese, it had a sliver of cream cheese inside. Again, I’ve ordered this same dish for years so clearly it must have been a mistake. I walk back in to explain the situation and the hostess offers me a little plastic container of cream cheese. She must not have understood my dilemma, so I ask for her manager. The manager walks up with a dismissive attitude and interrupts me abruptly to say “the recipe is only 2 ounces of cream cheese.”
“Okay, I can understand the recipe says 2 ounces, but I’ve ordered this for years and it’s always been plenty of cream cheese in this omelet.”
“Well, my team was overcompensating with the cream cheese so I fixed it. If you want more cream cheese then just order another 2 ounces at no additional charge.”
“I understand, can I just get a refund?”
“I can’t give you a refund, I can give you a credit for a free omelet because there is nothing wrong with it. Look, you’re over complicating the situation, I can get you another 2 ounces of cream cheese I don’t understand what the issue is”
“I just don’t appreciate the experience. I work across the street and I order the same omelet I have ordered for years only to find it has a lot less cream cheese. I can ask you to just make me another one but I have to get back to work, and instead of even offering to make another we’re arguing about cream cheese quantities”
I don’t remember the last time a manager of an establishment has gas-lighted my complaint and made me feel like I was being unreasonable when she admitted her staff had been overcompensating with the cream cheese for years, and when I ask for a refund she offers a credit. This is $15 we’re talking about, it’s not a $200 steak.
Very poor service and poor experience. Now I’m hungry at work with no additional time on my break to get any breakfast from somewhere else and she still hasn’t...
Read moreI’ve been to Another Broken Egg Café many times and always enjoyed it—but today was the first time I had to write a review.
It all started with the Lobster Brie omelette, which I instantly declared the best omelette I’ve ever had. Rich, buttery, perfectly balanced. I cleaned my plate—cheese grits and all—and was ready to walk away satisfied. Then something happened that changed the entire experience.
There was a minor issue with the food—not anyone’s fault, just something worth mentioning. I flagged it to our server, Reese, who responded immediately and professionally. Within moments, Jenny, the manager, was in the kitchen addressing it and preparing a small gift for us (totally unnecessary, since our experience was already stellar).
What struck me wasn’t just how fast they responded—it was how they owned the moment, took responsibility, and made us feel cared for. No excuses. Just action.
Reese and Jenny set the gold standard for service. Warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our day better. Even the host made our day brighter, complimenting my wife on her purse—something small that made a big impact on our date.
And the kicker? The prices are unbeatable. For about $20 per person, we had a brunch that rivaled any upscale restaurant: gourmet-quality food, drinks, and service that made us feel like regulars at a 5-star spot.
There are plenty of places with good food, and plenty with good service—but very few that offer both, consistently, with heart. Another Broken Egg Café does.
This is officially our new favorite...
Read moreIt was our first time at this restaurant and they gave us complimentary beignets which were very tasty. My husband ordered a skinny omelette which came with multi-grain toast and fruit. I ordered a veggie delight omelette with potatoes and multi-grain toast. The order was taking an extremely long time and finally someone came to our table to tell us that the skinny omelette had been burnt and they were remaking both omelets. When they finally came out, the multi-grain toast to both orders was burnt. I got up and went to my server and asked him if we could have toast that was not burnt. He quickly went to the back and soon came out with slightly overcooked toast, but it was edible. He apologized because they had a new toaster that was burning the toast. In my opinion, the food should look proper before it is delivered to the table. We did eat our omelets but they were nothing special and we did eat some of the toast. My husband's seasonal fruit was very mushy and the blackberries were actually falling apart. My potatoes were unseasoned and apparently deep fried. When the server brought the ticket to the table, he explained that they gave us a discount because of the food problems. Our experience wasn't terrible but it wasn't very good either. We would definitely not come back to this restaurant. When we eat out we want it to be a pleasant experience. I wish now that I had taken pictures to go with this review, but I usually think of taking pictures when the food looks beautiful. I am including a picture of the receipt with the...
